It is tempting to harp on the things that you might not like about this, so let's get them out of the way.

A "tablet" without a detatchable keyboard might not be everyone's cup of tea. It's bulkier in the hand and lap than you want. If you want a tablet, you should buy a tablet.

The size is a little big for an 11" notebook, enough so that it might not fit in the sleeve or case that another 11" notebook fits in, so be careful there. Make sure it fits.

And if you are going to do anything remotely "serious" with a computer, this is not going to cut it with only 2G RAM and 32G storage. Lastly, setup was really clunky. I had to hard shut-down the computer twice before it would complete.

I would give it 5 stars because of the value I'm about to detail, but I've removed 2 stars. The reason why is at the end of the review.

FIrst, that slightly bigger size makes the keyboard as easy to use as it is on my 13" laptop. And most 11" laptops are just plain useless. That said, I find all non-Mac trackpads to be too hard to use, and this is no exception.

But mostly... the price of this, considering you get a touch-screen and a case robust enough to withstand moderate use for a while, is insanely great. I didn't expect at this price to find 3 USB ports, HDMI, SD Card slot and even wired Ethernet. The value they have packed into this is remarkable.

Many people who an iPad or tablet, then end up using it with a keyboard all the time, who are looking to do work and email and web surfing, would imho be way better served by one of these, probably for way less money. I have an iPad, but if I'm surfing or doing light typing, I'd rather use this in a heartbeat.

Color: Blue Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Out of the box, I was impressed with this cute little guy. Nice blue color, case and hinges feel durable, screen looks great and doesn't seem like it will crack or break. Keyboard is wonderful. I love how quiet the keys are and they are soft touch keys, so you can type very fluidly from any angle or posture.

Setting up was quick and easy. I think it took me maybe 15 to 20 minutes and that includes uninstalling some of the crapware and installing my own Antivirus (avg). I decided I didn't like how IE ran on this, so I went ahead and installed Firefox as usual. It runs so much smoother with that browser. I use it on my other full size laptops as well.

This is my first netbook type laptop. My main laptops are full size i7 and i5 laptops, where as this HP is more of a tab with a built on keyboard. So, my full size laptops are the work horses and this one is more for quick browsing, checking email, etc. The tab that I have is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. To compare that with this Stream, I like the display on the Stream better and I also like having the keyboard built on.

This Stream is nice if you want something small, quick and reliable for casual browsing, email, videos, etc. You won't be running any hardcore games, photo editing software or anything like that on it, but it can handle small tasks very well. It's great if you don't like the idea of a tab due to the lack of a keyboard.. Stream is basically a tab with a keyboard. . Plus you get your usb, hdmi (!!), SD card slot and superb battery life. The battery life on this little blue gem out performs my Galaxy tab by a landslide.

You have the option to use this as a tab, but it is of course a bit bulky that way, since you're just flipping the keyboard back.

I was really tickled to get this hybrid tablet/ computer.... from HP
( see video review for details )
So onto the unboxing:

Well when you open the box .. you may be surprised by the color ( mine is blue) a real bright true blue. and that may make you think this is a toy or some child's machine .....WRONG............

I am going to just jump right in tell you I LIKE IT ... yup no doubt about it .
For me. it meets the sweet spot where ,in my opinion, no matter how nice your tablet might be, it still doesn't operate like a computer.. ( I own 5 different tablets from bargain 7 inch to high end 8.9 tablets w 4 g access ). This hybrid allows the portability of a large tablet but then opens to a sm computer. With some really really nice +'s i.e touch screen computer.
This is first and foremost a computer , small footprint , but it is a computer...
..................Second it is a large size windows tablet.

Now If you haven't watched the video , please do so now .............
I am not going to repeat that info but let me say, this machine will met the needs of many. and it won't intimidate the more tech shy person.
Set up was easy by just following the screen to get you started. If you have some expertise, medium level, you can expand on those instructions.
