I bought 2 of these for graduation presents. One ran very slow, the other has a screen issue that changes between the desktop and the start screen on its own without any mouse or keyboard action. Both required a number of HP updates per the HP support tool that is pre-installed on the system. After applying the HP driver updates and all current Windows updates, the slow system performed better, but the one with the ghost in its screen still is not working correctly. (I have a video of the behavior, unfortunately a video upload is not an option here) I suspect this is a screen related hardware issue. I am returning the one with the screen hardware issue. I am ordering another of the same system, the gifts were for my twin grandchildren to use at college who just graduated high school. BTW - I hope this return goes smoothly. I am an A+ certified Microsoft Certified Trainer who has been an IT Pro for over 20 years, I hope this issue does not show up in the next order.

Not bad for the price, let's be honest for $300 you shouldn't be expecting anything more than a internet surfing and media access point and that is what you get!!
Cons- Picture is not that great, it's not true HD and you will probably have to turn brightness all the way up like I did to be satisfactory.
Windows 8.1 is still a sloppy mess.
If you come from a computer with a fast processor this might seem slow to you but it is passable otherwise, the gap is very narrow these days as even the cheapest computers are still fairly fast compared to a few years ago.
Shipping from the seller took over a week, this seemed like ages as a Prime member who is used to two day shipping.

Pros-Beats audio sounds great!! Seriously I'm not used to this quality of sound on a cheap laptop.
I was surprised by the durability of the computer, it's built really solid, this aint no flimsy piece of plastic like laptops I have had in the past!!
Touch screen seems adequate and responsive.
The convertible tablet, tent, laptop modes all work really well.
Although it's slightly on the heavy side the notebook is very thin/small and portable.

Accustomed to my HP desktop, so wanted something smaller and more portable. I found it in this 11" laptop. Loved it so much, I gave it as a gift to my twin and he's enjoying it as well. Thanks, HP, for an economical, light weight and portable laptop. Would have given 5 stars, but haven't had it enough to give it a top rating yet. Probably will change that in a month or two.

I would've given 5 stars, had it not been for the hours of updates I've had to do to this upon arrival. Other than that, I love it. It's portable, reliable, and great for what I use it for.

Positives:
- No matter what position, this laptop will stay in it. It's very sturdy.
- Quick boot-up, and runs efficiently.
- Touchscreen is great.

Negatives:
- As aforementioned, my only con was the updates.

I have had my laptop for less than a week and already the screen does a weird shake thing while on multiple search engines. It's fairly slow while watching netflix, both go away with time but still really annoying. Either way i'll probably return mine.
