First was impressed with the packaging, which was easy to handle but good enough to wrap and gift, as it was shipped in its own labeled box. Next I was less than impressed with the instructions. The small pamphlet that came with it seemed more interested in telling you how great the technology was, than how to use the device or set it up...In truth I assembled it on my own by looking at the pieces and figuring out how it went together.

Second I should note, while this comes with different sized silicone gaskets (The part that attaches the unit to your computer vent) it is fairly large and not the best for smaller laptops like macbook air or lenovo yogas. It is suitable for our thrasher laptop a Toshiba Satellite which is thicker in the base.

Once we figured out how to hook it up we maintained that your laptop should be on a desk or hard lap desk in order to keep the base suction and seal properly to the laptop. This is not ideal for lap users- but will work well on desks/tables/etc. If the gasket is not sealed right it can be quite noisy, and I suspect, ineffective.

We wished we could figure out how to get the fan LCD display to read F- but it seems to only read C? It is large and easy to read and generates a fair amount of light- we haven't noticed any flickering like a previous user reported. We do notice the temperature drop and rise- and the laptop does feel cooler to the touch, though it's hard to measure the amount of cooling this device is using in comparison to traditional cooling pads. I'd say the biggest pro is the easy adaptation to multiple computers, easy to transport size, and simple on/off/adjust knob.Read more ›

Saving My Bank

I purchased this product because my laptop was running extremely hot (even with my fan running on full blast) when gaming. My gpu and cpu were way above normal operating levels and pushing into the critical error range. With this fan my gpu temps are down about 20 degrees (C) when gaming. You can't ask for anything more than that from a $15 product when a new/better fan would cost me close to $90. You definitely feel the heat being sucked from the vacuum and the different rubber pieces are nice to fit the intake nice and close to your laptop output. I tested this for 12 hours straight gaming to see if it could hold up to the challenge, but the only thing that happened we probably 9 hours in got a little bit louder (but the temp differences were still the same) and the next morning it was as quiet as when I first purchased it. Also, the light on the top of the case flickers every once in a while so I just covered it so I didn't have to look at it.

Overall:
Great way to keep your laptop at lower temperatures for a reasonable price.

Great cooler, until it died on day 25.

Received package in estimated shipping time frame. Cooler worked great, it was quiet and kept laptop cool to touch, I could play all the games that would reboot my laptop (from overheating) for hours and hours with no issue when using this cooker. That was until the 25th day of owning this cooler, when it died. It would not power up, fan would not spin anymore. If this worked longer than 30 days than I would give it a 5 star rating, I am going to contact the dealer and see if I can get it replaced.

My laptop was running extremely hot and would turn off if I even attempted to watch a video over 30 seconds. I tried cooling mats and nothing worked. I then discovered this little gem. It works wonderfully, but the installation process is a little vague. After getting the vacuum installed correctly, all was well. The temperature gauge on the vacuum was very informative, and the vacuum does a good job of sucking the hot air from my laptop. The only thing I would change is the suction cups which really were ineffective. I'm happy I can use my laptop again without it overheating.

I bought this for my daughter because she was having issues with her laptop getting too hot. We've only had it for a short time, but so far it is working well and keeping her laptop cool. Since she started using it she has not had any overheating issues. It's also nice and small, so it's easy to bring along in the car or to school. Under Intel XTU stress test my i7 4720 hq would constantly throttle after even 2 minutes with my CPU fans on full blast from hitting the 100 degree C cap. With this vacuum my CPU doesn't break 80 C. Under game load I would hit around 70 C, and this this vacuum I have yet to see my CPU break 50 degrees C on demanding games such as BF4 and GTA V.
