Well, I received the bag within 3 days of ordering, so points there. That being said, the bag I recieved is different from the picture. The straps on the bottom are where the buckles are, and they only go up about an inch from the bottom of the bag. Also, the rivets are vertical, not horizontal. Not exactly what I was expecting, but a nice bag. Just doesn't match the picture.

Great messenger bag, great price

I have been looking for a good basic, nothing fancy, leather messenger bag for a while. I have looked at other leather bags on the internet for more than twice the price of this one. I am impressed with the quality and know this is going to look even better as time goes by as it gets more broken in. The size is described at 16 inches. I have had no problem hauling around my standard office issue 14 inch Dell E6420 laptop, notebook, ipad, etc. with room to spare.

Also the description says the new leather smell will fade in a couple weeks of use. I really did not detect any unpleasant strong smell coming from the leather myself.

Bag unlike picture!

Bag completely unlike picture. One I received is very small without the green interior I actually believe it's a different bag. However, return shipping would be over $100 and they tell me they don't pay return shipping. Very disappointed with this transaction and wasted money in a bag we have no use for.

I just got the bag and feel pleasantly surprised to find exactly what I seen in the pictures advertised :) I don't know how it will hold up but I am anxious to put it to use and find out:)..it smells like leather and possibly some kind of oil used to treat it. Nothing overbearing ... Honestly it smells fine.

The foam sleeve is great, but leaves me no room for my external ...

For the price - I am very pleasantly surprised with this bag! I have a 13.3 inch macbook pro with a foam sleeve. The foam sleeve is great, but leaves me no room for my external hard drive, power supply, or cables. This bag is perfect. The macbook in the foam sleeve fits perfectly in the middle (anything larger than the 13.3 inch would not fit though), the hard drive, power supply, network cable and thunderbolt cable fit great on the side compartments and it still leaves me room for my phone and wallet. I might add some sort of padding around the shoulder buckle, and I did rub it down with saddle soap because the leather looked a little dry (and it does have a little bit of a weird smell when it first comes out of the packaging). But - for less than $50 - this is a really nice bag!

Used, dirty, bad quality, trouble getting a refund

The bag was used, had scratches and punctures all over, had white stains in the green interior lining, and had a foul smell. I returned the bag, but eventually had to file a A-Z Guarantee claim in order to actually receive a refund (True Grit was non-responsive).

Don't plan on getting your bag anytime soon

I imagine True Grit will attract a lot of interest from Portland, OR and Brooklyn, NY. The bags look impressive. Unfortunately, I wouldn't know. After a month of waiting, I finally received my A to Z guarantee. Thank goodness for Amazon.

If I had to guess, True Grit is a one-man operation and while good at designing fashionable bags and establishing a presence in social media, it is lacking in some basic business logistics. If you order this bag don't expect to have it shipped for at least 2 weeks (despite the $12 S&H) and if you have an issue, don't expect the owner/designer/customer service rep/CIO/shipping department to get back to you for at least a week, at which time your issue will not be addressed. Hopefully this guy gets some sense and realizes he needs help on the distribution end.
