A few technicalities makes this not a viable solution for me.

This battery is CHEAP. It gets 2 stars by virtue of the fact that it does what it's supposed to do. I "conditioned" it by fully charging for about 7 hours with the system completely powered off, then ran it down until the computer forced itself into hibernation, then charged it with system powered off again overnight. It held a decent charge. Ran for just over 1½ hours, and this was with MMO 3D gaming on the high performance graphics driver, (my laptop has dual graphics, but I wasn't using the "battery save" adapter for this rundown.) That being said, this battery leaves MUCH to be desired as far as general compatibility with my notebook.

I have a dv7-4060 laptop. The way it's designed, the hinges are in the back of the notebook chassis, and the screen swings around behind the notebook when open. This battery's protruding shape actually gets in the way of my screen so that I cannot open my laptop screen more than about 97 degrees. This causes the screen image to be fairly washed out in just about any ergonomic friendly position, and it's even worse when using it standing up, (something that my line of work requires me to do a LOT). The other issue I have, is that the battery does not seem to secure into the laptop well enough. It clicks and stays in place for the most part, but I can easily pull it out without pressing the release switch.

This battery is not going to work for me in the long term, unfortunately.

Not a good replacement for MU09

This is the 9 cell MU09 model. It works but has problems. It installs in HP Pavilion DV7 laptop OK but battery pack is different shape than old. Now the screen will not open all the way as it hits the battery. I can only get the screen about 7 degrees past vertical now. I charged the battery and ran a bit less than 2 hours before the computer shut down for low battery. I guess for the price.....

It was delivered early and works like it was expected to work. You can:t beat paying $20.00 bucks instead of $100,00 or more at "Batteries Plus". Since there is extra capacity, the raised portion on the battery helps the laptop cooling capacity.

Works but impedes display/screen movement

The Good: The battery capacity is great. The HP laptop can run for over 3 hours on a charge. The battery was delivered quickly and arrived about a month earlier than the estimated delivery date.

The Bad: Because this battery has a larger capacity than the OEM battery, it is larger. For another HP laptop, the battery had the additional protrusion to the bottom. On this battery, it protrudes to the rear of the laptop. The result is that the screen cannot be tilted back further than 90 degrees. If you have the laptop on your lap, you can adjust the keyboard position on your lap and still use without problems. If you have the laptop on a table, the angle of the screen just is not good, at least for me.

Would I Buy It Again? Maybe. The price was right. The battery works great. The laptop is usable again. But if this were my primary laptop, I would have returned the battery and looked for something else.

This battery has lasted just a few months and now it is dead, dead, dead! The run time on my HP laptop never has been more than 45 minutes so I don't think it has near the capacity advertised. Most of the time the computer is run on the charger, and only about 20 times have I used it running on the battery. The only thing I do like is that it raises the back of the computer a little bit so it is good for the air circulation. The price would have been fair if the battery had lasted even just one year, but I see it was just a waste of good money. I'll see if I can get an exchange, and have a better experience.

This battery seem to work great.

After I installed this replacement battery, my laptop used to shutdown abruptly at various intervals, even though battery showed 77%, 69%, 55%. However after each full charge cycle, it started taking longer for this abrupt shutdown behavior on battery. On reading more I got to know that the battery had to be calibrated to my laptop by charging 100% and discharging below 10% and then charging 100% again. I was about to return this item. But now I do not experience this abrupt shutdown behavior. I believe my battery is calibrated well now. This battery seem to work great.

Didn't realize this battery wouldn't allow my laptop screen to tilt back beyond a straight up 90 degree angle from the keyboard. As far as fit and function I just received it so battery life will be something I can make an accurate opinion on at a later date. I like the way my pc sits up off the surface with this battery but being in the way of the lid/screen opening fully might be a deal breaker for me, I couldn't honestly say I'd purchase again but if you need an extra capacity battery this one does fit and seems to work .
