Feature Rich and Secure

This backpack appears to be very well constructed of a heavy material with zippers, clasps, straps, and other components of high quality. The seams are evenly stitched and appear extremely sturdy. I'm expecting it to last a long time. We'll see. The overall appearance and workmanship are first class.
One of the best things about this backpack is how comfortable it is compared to other backpacks when fully loaded, with a large 17" laptop, iPad with case, notebooks, accessories, cables, water bottle, and other equipment and personal items. The shoulder straps are wide, well-padded and have shock-absorber-like suspension systems built in. The back padding is exceptional with three breathing mesh panels, one at the top, a large center one across the back that protects the wearer as well as the computers inside, and one lumbar pad for additional comfort. These three panels are separated by a couple of inches of open space that allows air to circulate between one's back and the backpack. The center pad has an opening in the back that allows it to slip over and attach to the extended handled of a wheeled travel bag. This last feature is important to me as I plan on using it as an under-the-seat carry on.
There are six separate zipped pockets; four of them with double sliders, which allow the compartments to be secured with luggage locks. The small one on the left side for smaller items is reachable by the wearer while wearing it. All of the pockets, including the padded laptop and tablet pockets are lined with a smooth soft plastic that hopefully will protect the contents from perspiration or a spill in an adjoining pocket. The mesh phone pocket on the strap appeared too narrow, but my phone slipped in easily.Read more ›

This backpack is large enough to accommodate my 17.3 " laptop, its accessories, as well as my digital camera and its accessories, and is well cushioned. It is comfortable to wear, east to fit as carry-on luggage, and makes the perfect companion to a wheeled suitcase while traveling.

High sierra easily beats out any under armour or Nike backup in ...

I've had this backpack through 3 years of high school and into my first year of college. I worked at Dick's sporting goods for two years and handled hundreds of backpacks. High sierra easily beats out any under armour or Nike backup in quality and room. The zippers are extremely sturdy and there's never a problem with them catching. The material is aestheticly pleasing and very durable. I played football and ice hockey and my bag got thrown around and dragged everywhere. I would say the only other backpack that can compete with the space and durability of high sierra is a north face, and you'll have to spend a minimum of $100. Great buy!!

Great backpack -- after reading reviews for many brands on Amazon, and hearing many complaints about broken zippers and ripped threads, I went with this one and have not been disappointed. I've been using it for travel and laptop (15.5" Dell) duty for only a month but it's still as perfect as the day I got it.

Only complaint is that I found the exact same one at Costco the day after I got this one, but for $20 cheaper, and Amazon charged $10 return shipping.

Great Quality, Great Backpack

This backpack is a great backpack that has 6 zippers showing on the front and 1 for cables on the side. All 6 Zippers open up fine with no zipper jams and are greatly spacious. The Cushion Zone is a feature that I like a lot because it gives a space just for my computer while not damaging my laptop with cushions on each side. When you open the front zipper it gives a variety of options for you to store your papers pens and other supplies. This backpack is worth the price

Excellent item

Just received one as a gift and I absolutely love it! I am always on the move; out in the field, city and in the office and this pack fits all my travel and PC items comfortably and neatly. This is a really good high quality back pack. This is a good back pack for the very busy person. Enough said.

Five Stars - Lots of Room - Great For College

If you are looking for a large capacity backpack that can house a standard 17" laptop, this is an excellent option. There are several compartments, each a different size & capacity, to fit a lot of necessities. This is a very popular backpack on campus.

I currently carry a 15" laptop, charger, 1 textbook, 4 reference books, calc., 1.5" jam-packed 3 ring binder, 2 bags of snacks & large bottle of water daily without issues. The straps feel solid & well-sewn.

I will update this review next semester with the 17" laptop experience. As it stands, I have a minimum of 2.5" of clearance with my 15" laptop in place.

Update: My 17" Lenovo Y70 Touch laptop fits; safe, snug fit.
