This is a wonderful backpack. Have to carry a 12.5 " laptop to and from work. This is the best backpack I have ever used. People who observe when I carry it always praise it for the slimness and usefulness. It protects the laptop very well due to quality cushioning.

Thin backpack protects and easy to carry bare minimum

This is a second backpack for me. I normally carry a Case Logic backpack that has all of my stuff I carry like MacBook 2015, iPad Air 2, various cables, adapters, power supplies, credit card case, wallet, papers, pens, stylus, work keys. This backpack carries just the bare minimum: MacBook 2015, iPad Air 2, power supply, a few cables, a credit card case. It's very padded and protects what it carries without any concern. Plus it's so much lighter on the back if you are walking any kind of distance. If you need just the bare minimum, this is your backpack. If you need more most of the time but need a ultra thin backpack for quick trips, this is a solid choice.

Not for men, and no side padding at all

Backpack provides a lot of cushion to protect the front and back of the laptop; however, like most backpacks and sleeves it fails miserably at not providing any cushion / padding on the sides, which means that your laptop will not be protected from any of the four sides.

Also would like to point out that if the above doesn't bother you this is a great backpack for children and women, definitely NOT for men. The straps are way too thin.
