I've used these Hynix 2GB DDR3 PC3-10600 SODIMMS on multiple occasions to upgrade laptops to 4GB when I reinstall Windows 7 64-Bit on them. Most of these laptops originally shipped with 2GB of memory and the 32-Bit version of Windows 7, so if you have to reinstall the OS, it only makes sense to go with the 64-Bit version if your CPU is 64-bit capable, but the 2GB of RAM is going to be a serious bottleneck and provide for some truly horrendous performance. The last few models that I've upgraded have been Lenovo X201 tablets. These came equipped with 2GB of RAM and Windows 7 32-Bit, but have an older i5 and are still capable. If the hard drive fails, you can replace it with an inexpensive 120GB SSD, upgrade the memory to 4GB and install Windows 7 64-Bit (at least until the free Win10 upgrade is available) and have a zippy little machine. There are tons of laptops in that 5 year-old range that this would apply to, and if you need a DDR3 10600 SODIMM, this one likely fits the bill, as I've used it in a lot of different models with good results.

I have been trying for over a year to get my wife's not very olf Acer laptop to get running and stay running. She teaches a few online classes as well as face to face and needs a reliable laptop, which she wasn't getting. I had trouble reloading the OS, loading programs, actually doing anything. It flat did not want to run. Constant BSOD, usually always having to do with memory management failure. I tried all the tech blog nonsense, ran all the memory diagnostics until I saw ones and zeros in my sleep, and it always passed with flying colors. Finally our son-in-law gave her his fully functional and not vey old Toshiba and she went back to work, I parked the Acer. Then in a fit of frustration I ordered this RAM. When it arrived I pulled out the old RAM, pulled the HD and formatted it for the umpteenth time, plugged it back in, put the Windows 7 disc in the drive and...it loaded. All the way. The first time. All subsequent programs load and run, no missing or corrupt DLL files, no BSOD, no memory errors. Finally. So there are two lessons here. The first is that this RAM works lust like it's supposed to, and the second is, if you are getting BSOD with memory management as the culprit, memory errors, unwanted shutdowns and reulting dll errors, don't waste your time with all the memtest nonsense. Pull your RAM and replace it. With this brand!

The RAM module that I received was not the exact same that was shown in the picture, which had four single bar chips on the visible side. The one I received had eight small rectangular chips per side. I am upgrading the memory in my QNAP TS-269L, and although many modules meet the same specifications, if there are eight chips per side instead of four, the consensus seems to be that it will not work. This doesn't necessarily make sense because of the specs all being identical, DDR3, PC3-10600 204-Pin...
I am not rating the quality or anything else other than the fact that it wasn't what I was expecting which meant it will not work for my needs. I searched to find the cheapest module that had a picture with only four chips on the one side, and this fit that bill. Unfortunately, the actual product did not so I am returning it.

I am giving it two stars due to the fact that it arrived unbroken and is labeled with the proper specifications. I am bothered that it isn't what I was expecting. I would have just ordered from any of the other slightly higher priced ones that have the image of four single chips on the side.

The original 2GB were most of the time not enough on my MacBook Pro mid-2009, so I struggled to find a compatible upgrade (1066 or 1333 MHz) and finally found this model from a local reseller in Morocco (http://uno.ma). I went with a 2x2GB and while the MBP memory upgrade is very noticeable when running several applications, it seems switching the MBP on takes longer... But it shouldn't be a big deal since (I guess) MBP owners rarely switch them off.

I tried also the Samsung 2GB DDR3 PC3-12800S (1600MHz) but it didn't work in couples, as expected : as a matter of fact, the MBP 5,5 supports up to 1333MHz but can downclock higher-frequency RAM if --and only if-- it's coupled to a lower-frequency one. So I could make only one Samsung PC3-12800S work along with the original Samsung 1GB PC3-8500, ending up with 3GB.

So I got two of these Hynix 2GB / 1333 MHz and they worked just fine.

I was on the fence whether to purchase this memory to install in my Acer 710 Chromebook. I had read that the processor installed wouldnt be able to read all 4GB of memory. This did not make sense to me as the OS is 64bit and the motherboard is uses in other systems. I decided to pull the trigger and have no regrets. It is the same chip that was already installed in my chromebook. I now have 4GB of memory and the Chromebook runs even better. I can open more tabs and run mutiple tabs, SSH, Plex, and Remote Desktop without any issues. Great value.

I bought 4 gb of this Hynix RAM to upgrade my Asus 1215n from the stock 2gb to 4gb and it worked exactly as I had hoped. I definitely notice a performance boost and I had no issues at all. It's not the highest quality RAM out there but for a netbook it really doesn't matter so I'm totally pleased. I'd buy a higher quality RAM if I upgrade my high-end gaming laptop, but that's a different story. I was amazed at how cheap this RAM is. If you're considering it, just go for it, it works fine and the price is amazing.
