After the initial charge period, the battery is working fine. Don't need to have the laptop connected all the time. The only problem is when you hook it on, the fit is not quite 100% as the original.

Good replacement, fits and works

I was slightly nervous about ordering this product given the price point and comments about fit. However it fits perfectly with a good quality finish and worked fine. It's only been a few days, so I can't comment on how long it will last, but so far it seems to live up to its 5500 mAh capacity (the OEM battery it replaced was less than that).

Update 21st August - still going strong. This is in my daughters computer and gets well used and abused, still going fine.

I've had this battery for a couple of months now. It works perfectly and was so much cheaper than the dell version which I think cost upwards of ninety dollars. looks like some people have had trouble but that wasn't the case for me. Maybe check carefully to make sure you're getting the compatible battery for your computer? anyway I'm totally happy. It fit in place exactly right, comes with instructions on how to properly charge it, and I'm pretty sure it runs a little longer than my original one did.

Excellent buy!

Excellent battery and a great buy. Much cheaper than if you bought a Dell brand battery for sure. The life of the battery is not the best. It will last for about two hours depending on how much you use the computer when the battery is in it, but still an awesome buy. I would highly recommend it.
