The product displayed would have worked great as all the information required was displayed on the label on the product image.. The product I received was not what was advertised in the image for the transaction - nor did it work int he machine that I was so doggedly demanded to identify during the selection process. I went through a lot of trouble to ensure that the product I was ordering would work in my machine - only to be disappointed and to have to place an order with another vendor to get parts that work with my machine.

good product, good company

I bought 2 of these. The first one worked great, and the laptop jumped back to life. I figured if one is good, two must be better; so I ordered another. When I installed the second, the computer wouldn't boot; so I returned it. The company gave me no static and the return was super easy. They didn't want to do a exchange, just a refund - fine by me, so I bought another when I got the credit (2 or 3 days). When the new one came, it didn't work again. I tried switching the cards in the two slots on the laptop, and it started working. I ran the memtest, and everything was good. Its possible the first card was good and my laptop is just a little loopy. Either way, the komputerbay people were totally good - every shipment was well packed and quick, very professional. The return was easy and I'm very happy with the product now.

Why I like this memory

I was honestly pleased with my purchase of this memory, and I tried to post a simple review that expressed my appreciation toward the seller, but it was rejected by Amazon. I cannot understand WHY Amazon would reject a straightforward positive review when I see all the asinine reviews, complaints, and bs that have nothing to do with reviews. I don't have forever to write a flowery review, but at the same time I recognize that most of the businesses that operate through Amazon are small operations and reputation can make or break them. So I try to write a positive review to help the merchant, and Amazon throws it out. I mean, what can I say about laptop memory? It arrived quickly, it was not broken and I didn't have a problem with the seller. Can't we all just get along?

Because it was the cheapest memory I could find for this PowerBook, and because the machine had suffered bad memory problems before, i ran Memtest on the new Komputerbay RAM when it arrived. I was going to return it if it reported any errors, but after a day of testing no flaws were found. The machine has been running on the RAM for just a few weeks, but there have been no problems. So, highest possible quality so far.
