Safety at last

After making a career change I needed more security on my laptop. Had a major encryption system installed, then IT guy recommend this lock for when I was at coffee shops or hospitals. Only frustration with it is all directions were in German and it can be a bit fussy to unlock but it's lightweight to carry yet you would need some serious bolt cutters and time to get it off. Very happy overall.

Just bought 3 of these for the office. We have Lenovo's - probably not on the top of the list of stolen items like a Macbook - but data is the more precious item to protect.

Had some minor issues to install the stub - but you need to lengthen the black cylinder so it goes in deeper into the Lenovo T400 - then you can tighten.

This install video was very helpful - they should have put it in the install guide.

I have to register the 3 keys - like to see how that work out. Everything looks solid. I like that it has a "hinge" to move left or right after been locked, and that it locks without a key. The only time u need a key is to unlock it.

I'll come back and update this review in a month or 2.

Better than other kensington locks

After going through two kensington combo locks, both of which failed due to the moving parts in the combo getting stuck, I decided to give Kensington one more try. This system uses a little metal nubin that you first attach onto your laptop (I have a macbook pro and my understanding is it works with all macs) with an allen wrench. Then, the actual lock portion clicks onto the nubin. It's much easier to lock and unlock than a combo and there are no moving parts that could get stuck and cause you panic, saw through the cable (which is surprisingly and frighteningly easy) and force you to take your laptop with a suspiciously sawed off lock to a locksmith.
