I have an iMac. Its internal DVD/CD RW had to be replaced 3 times. Got fed up and ordered this DVD/CD RW. No directions for Mac Systems but plugged in to USB port and it worked first time. No directions were needed, worked like an internal DVD/CD.

I had become frustrated with receiving media write errors on my 3 year old macbook. It appears that my internal drive became picky on what brand discs I could use. I decided to do some research on an external drive. I found that this unit has all the features I wanted. This unit works fantastic with any brand of discs. A note to mac users who buy this unit. This unit is plug and play, which means that you don't have to install a program. All you do is plug in the (usb) it has two connectors but only one is needed, then when you open iTunes, for example you just click the burn button and this unit takes over bypassing your internal drive. Highly Recommend It.

This device is wonderful. My son's dvd rom was broken and it was more than we wanted to pay to replace it. This device works beautifully. It was shipped promptly and came sooner than we expected.

This is great. It reads disks, it writes disks. Perfect for installing software for my college classes and burning backups of work as well as DVDs and CDs for entertainment purposes.

Love this thing. I have been without a driver for about 2 years because my Dell Studio 1535's driver gave up. I had been using my wife's laptop but that got frustrating for both of us. This drive fit the bill. I DID use two USB ports because I had them available. I'm sorry to say I haven't tried it with one, yet. This unit is light, quiet and worked great! I've ripped about 25 cd's with it, so far and have had no problems. The USB cord IS quite short at about 22 inches. It still met my needs on my laptop. Shipping was fast and I couldn't be happier.

Awesome product. I plugged it into my Mac and started producing CDs and DVDs right away. The cool thing is, when I render DVDs from iDVD on my Mac, I can never get them to process correctly, but, with this new drive it works perfectly. Also, a little secret I learn from our local Mac guy: Don't bother plugging in both USB ends of the that two-headed monster. It's old school, from what my Mac guy told me. I plugged into just one USB port, and the device works like a dream. I'm so glad I made this purchase. It's an inexpensive product that will save me hundreds of dollars in burnt out drives on my Mac. (I burn a lot of CDs and DVDs for my business as a spiritual teacher.) I would definitely buy it again!
