This lapdesk is possibly the worst lapdesk around. As another reviewer has stated, not only does the wrist rest seem to mysteriously lose all of its shape, but the cushion on the underside does the same thing.

Don't expect this lapdesk to last too long. In my opinion, it would be much better placing your laptop on a piece of cardboard. This lapdesk is jut not worth the money.

I purchased this over a year ago. When I first received it I was concerned about the lack of "stuffing" in the wrist support area. It appears to use some kind of sand or silica. As time went on, more and more of the filling has disappeared until now there's no comfort to be found. There's no hole, it appears to be escaping through the fabric or is breaking down inside. It also offers NO COOLING whatsoever. I had to invest in a notebook cooler.

Worst of the worst!

I've owned two of these lap desks now and I don't have a desk area to sit at with my laptop, so I use this everyday. They seem to have a problem with the plastic cracking right in the middle on the sides (I do take care when picking it up). The plastic it's made from isn't very durable. The crack on the sides always tends to happen after about 4-5 months of use.

The wrist rest and lap cushion on the bottom are not very durable either. They seem ok at first, but then they start losing beading from inside or just getting very lumpy and the stuffing goes to one side leaving the plastic to dig into your leg. The wrist guard loses beads as well (not sure where they go because I haven't seen them on anything!) to the point where my wrist is flat with the desk. Not good when you have slight carpel tunnel issues like I do.

I also had to buy a separate cooling stand for my laptop because it was constantly overheating on this lapdesk.

It's relatively cheap at $20 and if you don't mind replacing it every few months with a new one, then go for it. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend this lapdesk... (still not sure why I bought a 2nd one of the exact same kind...)

I purchased this 4 or 5 years ago from Barnes & Noble, I think. I just replaced it (from here) because tiny white beads were coming out. (The stuffing) For my set up, nothing compares to this. I have a 12 inch netbook and I use a mouse. (comfortable with my 15" and mouse too) I use this at home because I like to be portable. I also have one at my daughter's house in another state. I wouldn't consider it portable for suitcase packing but with the handy dandy handle I take it with me locally.

The wrist pad is comfy. I think even if I didn't use a mouse I would still like the wrist pad when typing and it also serves as a bottom shelf which is mandatory for me. Being comfortable, durable, having a handle, the soft wrist pad and the perfect size is what makes it stand out. Having the netbook in my lap on this is perfect.

This lap desk is the best. It is comfortable in my lap. It keeps the laptop cool and provides the sturdy structure I need sitting with it in my lap. Sometimes I watch TV and enter receipts. I even have room for my coffee cup or water bottle. I'm just careful when I am moving about.

When I went to replace my old one, I searched for the same model and this is it!I have tried others but this lap desk is tried and true.

I purchased this item quite a while back, and it is now time for me to purchase a new one. Thought I would write a quick review to explain why I am NOT ordering another one. Since much of my time is spent sitting on the couch with my laptop propped up on my knees, I decided this would give it more stability which it did. It was very comfortable sitting on my legs thanks to the two long strips of micro beads underneath on both the top and bottom edges. The two built in mouse pads were also extremely handy and well positioned on the desk. My biggest complaint was the wrist support across the bottom was a great idea as it kept the laptop from sliding down off the desk, unfortunately it was made of micro beads with a cloth covering. The beads eventually did not stay in position and the wrist support became very uneven. The cloth covering was virtually impossible to clean, and after a long use has become very unsightly and stained. The overall material of the entire desk was fabricated in material that was difficult to clean overall. The lap desk held up EXTREMELY well, never broke despite many droppings and rough handling. It was very successful in allowing me to comfortably hold my laptop on my legs, and I would most likely give it 5 stars if I had been able to clean it. I just purchased a Chromebook and need an additional lap desk to support the new computer, as I still use my old one. I will be purchasing something similar that is created to be easily wiped clean because this one just plain looks sloppy, all stained and dirty. Excellent desk as long as you are not overly concerned about keeping it clean is my final opinion, which only you can decide.

This product is, indeed, a lap desk. It is a desk that goes on your lap. It is not good for writing on with pen and paper because of the chunk in the middle, but there is some slight elevation for your laptop to pretend to offer airflow, but the soft padding there does so love to absorb heat and so that tiny maybe quarter inch of raised surface is pretty much negated.

The wrist bar is, as you can likely see from other reviews, completely useless. For me all it does is get in the way. Others have complained that it offers no support. I seem to have gotten the variant of the desk that they wished they had as mine offers too much support. I can't comfortably use my laptop's trackpad and buttons, and can barely get by with using the mouse either. Oh, dear reader, I look forward to the day when the little polystyrene balls inside start compressing and I can actually reach things. Maybe my wrists are malformed, or perhaps my hands are. I don't know, but what I do know is that this is not on. Or perhaps I should just not be the person who only uses their lapdesk for computing in bed right before sleep whilst lounging in the most uncomfortable looking, but actually comfortable position possible. Please, compress faster tiny balls.

The two bits of padding underneath work fine on my legs though, so at least there is that.

All in all, several years ago, I got a lapdesk from B&N for approximately the same price (there may have been a dollar difference all told) several years ago, and so far I'm liking this one better. To each their own, though. Personally, I'm just glad for the lack of buttons on the underside.
