I just received this and it was exactly what I needed. I'm an author and I use my IPad a lot for writing. This is the perfect size for my Ipad and wireless keyboard. The little lip keeps my keyboard from slipping and my Ipad doesn't flip down or move when I do. The hand cushions are amazing. It doesn't just feel like nasty plastic either it has a nice smooth feel that has a little grip to it so the keyboard doesn't slip. It fits my 15" laptop too. It's a tight squeeze for that but it will work. no room for the mouse with my laptop but if you had a 13" laptop it would fit perfect. I bought it for my Ipad anyway. If you have a small laptop or tablet this is perfect. It won't fit anything larger for those of you looking for that. I love that it's small and compact and it even has a nice handle.

If you are looking for something small, light and fits tablets this is for you.

Great Lapdesk

I really have noting but praise for this item. I have a Nexus 7 and a Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard (which is what I'm writing the review with... on the lap desk) and I swear this was a match made on the fluffy white clouds of whatever afterlife you imagine. I thought before purchasing that the writst pads might be annoying, however I've grown to love them. The soft foam material really elevates and cusions your hands for an exceptionally comfortable typing experience, and the neoprene material stays relatively cool and slick for maximum comfort. The phone pad on the side is useful as well, even though I have a phone much larger than the pad. When I'm not typing, the ridge at the bottom of the desk is great for all-around tablet use, however this is a media desk and I would not reccomend it for pen-and-paper writing because of the various slots and ridges. The desk is extremely comfortable on your legs with a sort of plush bean bag cusion at the bottom. The desk also (barely) fits my 15 inch bulky old laptop as well, but that's not my primary usage for the desk. The desktop itself is a satin-y soft touch material that has a good balance of grip and slide, but my only real complaint with the entire desk is that it's a dust magnet, however this is easily recitified with a wet paper towel.
The value of this desk is also incredible. A similar desk at my local bookstore was about twice the price.

A Total Waste of Money

At the start, I was disappointed in this Lap Desk because it is cheaply made. There were two buttons on the pillow side that weren't securely attached right when I opened it from the box. Also, the "pillow" isn't really a pillow, but more like a bean bag without sufficient stuffing. I've owned the lap desk now for exactly one month and the stitching that secures the pillow to the board is unraveling and the stuffing inside is leaking out. (See photo.) I'm tossing it in the garbage today- a total waste of money.

Not for MS Surface Users

I purchased this item to do my college work throughout the house. I use a Microsoft Surface, a tablet that converts to a laptop. Well, to my disappointment, if I use my computer as a tablet, the slot is not large enough. This product would be extremely great if the slot was universal for all tablets. (The concept is great, just not for surface users).

Overall, I think this is a great idea, good product for laptop users, and has a reasonable price.

Practical and comfortable

This little lap desk works great. It's lightweight and very comfortable to use. However, the desk surface is barely large enough for a 15" MacBook Pro. Though it is perfect for a 13" MacBook Pro with room to spare. In either case there would be no room for an external mouse. The tablet slot in the desk is 11" long, 1/2" wide and slightly more than 1/2" deep. The slot cradles my iPad securely at a good viewing angle. A wireless keyboard would go right in front on the desk without wobbling. Both mini arm rests are firm yet comfortable. They tilt slightly outwards to line up with the natural position of the arms. In addition, a functional lip between the arm rests serves as a barrier to prevent the computer or keyboard from sliding down. There is also a slightly raised, slip-resistant foam pad on the right side of the desk for a smartphone.

The base of the lap desk is constructed of what appears to be a bean bag like cushioning system. It is made of a loose fabric cover with polystyrene beads inside, and two buttons fastened to the base in the middle for a low-profile look. The base is very soft and would automatically conform to the contour of your lap, in a way similar to how a bean bag would conform when you sit on it. In addition, a fabric handle is integrated at the top for easy carrying, or hanging when not in use.

All in all, I like this lap desk a lot. It is very practical and surprisingly comfortable to use. It's just the right size for a tablet & keyboard combo, or a 13" laptop computer (15" may barely fit, or a tablet of 0.5" or less in thickness may also fit in the slot). It provides a good, stable platform for me to use my laptop in the bed or on the couch, while keeping my lap cool and comfortable.

Not as useful as it appears...

I cannot rate this product very highly.

1. NUISANCE: When I put my iPad Air 2 into the tray (as pictured in the product images) the "send" button in iMessages falls far into the crevice, making it difficult to access.

2. The "padding" does not offer much support / cushion. I had to put the "desk" onto a pillow for greater comfort.

3. If you have pets, beware that the material covering the desk cushion is a magnet for pet fur.

I prefer using the underside of my laptop cooling pad to support my iPad while working in bed. Unfortunately, it's no longer available...
