Product Description

The Laptop Legs attach to the bottom of any notebook computer with peel-n-stick 3M adhesive. Each Laptop Leg including the Mac Feet have two fold-down legs that elevate. The smaller leg elevates the back of the notebook 1" while the second leg raises it 1-3/8". The small leg has a large rubber pad for gripping on the desktop when in the closed or folded closed position. The smaller leg can support a constant weight load of 20 lbs. and the larger leg can support a constant weight load of 35 Lbs.Most ergonomists will advise never to type on a flat keyboard. Typing on a flat desk top surface forces the user to move their elbows away from their body in order to position their hands comfortably for typing. Supporting the arms away from the body fatigues the back and shoulder muscles reducing the time you are able to spend working on your notebook. The Laptop Legs elevate the keyboard for better typing ergonomics while reducing body fatigue and improving personal performance.Internal heat is a notebook's worst enemy and is the principal cause of sluggish performance, screen freezing and shortening the life span of the computer. Aside from certain death that comes with the crash-to-the-floor or liquid spill over the keyboard, internal heat is the de facto number one killer of notebook computers. What most people don't know about this issue and what most manufacturers wont' tell you is that the excessive heat within your notebook eventually wears out the electronic components. That's why notebooks die - they simply wear out from heat fatigue.

I bought two sets of these: one for a Logitech keyboard with a busted leg and one for a Gateway Laptop that ran ridiculously hot. Very easy to install (pull off the tape & stick 'em where you want 'em). Boosted the keyboard to a better typing angle than the legs that came with it and are sturdier to boot. The short legs boosted the laptop just enough to let air circulate and it runs substantially cooler. The higher legs make a much better typing angle. After a month of use there's no sign that any of them are getting loose.

I bought a set of these because the laptop wasn't getting enough air and overheating. It would automatically shut off when it got too hot. Since installing these, it hasn't overheated once. The laptop is easier to type with also with the adjustable angle. Good product, worth the money.

I love the laptop legs. They raise the notebook to a slant that allows air to get underneath to help cool it. The only thing that would cool a laptop better is a fan. I've had fans & they add extra weight to carry around as well as tie up a USB plug. The legs are ready to go all the time, easy to stick on, have two positions & add no extra weight. I have them on all 5 laptops that my family owns. Even the 5 year old can set them up easily when she uses her mini notebook.

These legs are great. Even when not extended, they raise the laptop about 1/3 of an inch. When extended, the vents at the bottom of my laptop are completely free to breathe. I like these because I do not need to carry around an extra laptop stand everywhere I go. I also like that I do not need to worry about whether the vents on the bottom of my laptop are intake or exhaust vents (which is an issue with external stands with built-in fans). I also stuck these on the battery in the back-center of my laptop which seems to stay cooler than the laptop itself. Even though they are not at the very edges of my laptop, my laptop does not wobble, slide, or otherwise move whatsoever.

1st Update: Like others, I had to replace the tape. However, some 3M poster strips did the trick. I am still happy I bought this product.

2nd Update: After replacing the tape with 3m strips, these legs haven't fallen off once and still work just like they did when they were new (about 1.5 years ago). Aside from the tape issue, these would be a 5-star product.

Laptop legs are truly amazing. They are really well designed. Unlike cheap, third-party knock-offs, their rounded-corner design makes them easy on the hands when you carry your laptop because there are no sharp corners to scratch yourself on. And because of that, they don't snag when you put your laptop in a bag or take it out of your briefcase.

The only reason I didn't give them a FIVE star rating is because the adhesive that sticks them to the laptop is weak. This is bad if you want the laptop legs to stay where you put them. They tend to unstick especially when the laptop gets hot. I find this really irritating.

The problem can be solved by pealing off the stick-up they come with and replacing it with two-sided heavy duty stick-um tape from 3M 3M Scotch 110/DC Heavy Duty Mounting Tape, 1/2-by-75-Inch. The good news about the weak stick-um they come with is that it's easy to peal them off your laptop if, for some odd reason, you want to do that. Either way, this is an awesome product.

Highly recommended.

I just ordered my 3rd set of these handy little devils because I just bought a new laptop. I will NEVER own a laptop without these and have been a happy user for over 7 years now! Something so simple and inexpensive that adds years of life to your computer. By just extending the legs to the lowest setting, it makes my laptop run much cooler and puts my keyboard at a much more comfortable typing angle. Also keep in mind, by heating up the double sided tape with a hair dryer, you can take them off very easily and re-attach them without any lose of 'stickiness' to the tape...so if you have to stick them over your battery door area, no worries, just take them off and put them back on as needed! They include directions on how to do this in the documentation provided.

These feet will work fine IF you can mount them close to the back edge. My back edge has two problems, a bump where the battery is encased, and a cooling vent. So I tried mounting them 2.25 inches from the back edge. Doing so, when the screen is opened the computer becomes "back heavy" and the keyboard will be lifted up off the desk. Beware.

These laptop legs work great. They advertise 2 ergonomic elevations, but really I find that there are three different elevations. On my Inspiron 15R when the legs are all the way down, it elevates the computer slightly and already makes it better. Don't know if this helps with cooling as well, but it is another option. I personally use the shorter elevation of the two they advertise. The taller elevation is a little too much for me. I found a great place to put them on the computer without obstructing any fans or screws (on the battery access panel). They have been on for a couple of weeks and absolutely no sign of them falling off. In fact the first place I put them on my computer did not work, so I took them off with a flat head screwdriver and reapplied them. The adhesive still works! So I guess there is a little forgiveness if the first location does not work. Anyway, I am very happy with this product and would recommend these.
