Very cheap as reflected by the price.. My mistake for not spending a few more bucks.. Don't make the same mistake I did. Granted it works but you have to tinker with the cord relentlessly.

It gets the Job done

I got this charger as a replacement for a Gateway laptop, model MT6821. The packaging was rather barebones, but it's not like fancy packaging is needed for a charger of all things. The product itself feels very plasticky and cheap, but it does as is advertised; charge my laptop.

There are really only two other minor complaints I have with this charger.

1) The wire is shorter than the wire for my previous, OEM charger. I don't particularly mind this, but it does mean that you can't move your laptop around as far away as you may have been able to before.

2) The LED light signaling that the charger is active and has electric going through it is very dim. I was barely able to tell that the LED even went on, and is a slight bother for when you are trying to check whether the charger is even functional or not.

So far I haven't had this charger for long, so hopefully it lasts. Will update this review with the lifespan of this charger whenever it dies on me.

I purchased this laptop AC charger for my Gateway MT6840 and got it yesterday and had no problems with it. I got this charger from HisGadget Inc. (known as BetterStuff LowerPrice on here) since they were the lowest price and offering free Prime shipping (free two day shipping). I remember getting an official Gateway charger about 2-3 years ago for around $100 and shocked to see I can get a fully functional charger for about 10% of the price I paid for one years ago. It's definitely a great value buy even if the charger somehow manages to fail months down the road.

EDIT (June 5, 2012): The charger gave out about a year after buying it but for the price it was, that's not bad at all.

Purchased this because the original one was lost. The price was right and it worked great. Arrived one day early. Would buy again if needed. It had a Velcro wrap for the cord too. The first one I received was defective, when I plugged it into my laptop it made the mouse not work, as soon as I unplugged it, it worked fine, I contacted the seller and they sent me a replacement. This one works fine, does not make my computer do funky things. The adaptor does get very hot as it is not UL approved, I have found if I tilt it up on it's side it's not as hot. This is not as good quality that you will find at best buy but its a whole lot cheaper. Does the job just not as good as a more expensive one.
