I was skeptical about buying this product because it was so cheap and there were some bad reviews. I decided to purchase it anyway because it was cheap and wouldn't be a loss if it didn't work. So far it has worked perfectly! It has not lost any power and it is durable (I've had the product for over a month). I decided to give the adapter 4 of 5 stars because the entire length from the outlet to the laptop is much shorter than the original.

Great item and at a fraction of the cost of many others I checked at Best Buy, Office Depot, and Staples. Read some reviews about it overheating or not lasting more than a year, but mine has worked fine and have been using it 8+ hours a day for over a week. Even if it does only work 1 year, I would gladly buy another one and still be nowhere near the cost of buying a style from the afformentioned stores. Very fast shipping from my seller and even emailed to make sure everything was satisfactory. Been buying things off amazon for around 14 years and that was the first time that has ever happened.

Worked fine for about 3 months

Worked fine for about 3 months, then the plug into the computer began to get flexible and intermittently lost contact. It continues to charge put the cord just behind the plug needs to be pinched under the laptop to maintain contact through what I suspect is a defective plug. It functions but the durability is poor. It was much cheaper than the OEM part so that is the trade off.

This is such a good purchase for my HP laptop. I purchased this because my original power cord had wires exposed. The laptop use to get extremely hot (before the cord had wires exposed), but with this new power cord the laptop stays cooler. Such a great price! I'm glad I purchased it.
