Cheap-- near house fire

We purchased this item 61 days ago and it worked fine. TOnight, the computer was not charging (it is a stationary laptop, it never moves) so, if we held the cord in place, it charged. Because I had moved the outlet it was plugged into, the power box half way through the cord was not by the chair as it usually is, but on the kitchen counter. Upon grazing my hand over it, I noticed it was SCALDING hot-- easily 180 degrees hot without a doubt. I am certain we were destined for a fire at any moment! DO NOT BUY this item!!! It will work fine briefly... but if you want to risk your home and belongings for a cheap charger, by all means, get it...

gets very hot!!

The battery case is cheaply made and it gets very hot (really hot) within 5 min of plugging in. It is really hot that it feels like any lack of air circulation may set things on fire! The information sticker does not look like what is in the picture and does not say that it is UL listed. The wall plug and computer connector wires look decent though. I am hesitant to use it for a long time and would disconnect it once the laptop battery is charged a bit. I will not buy any products made by SIB.

Fell apart after two days

This item was not worth my money. It fell apart after hardly any use in only two days. The metal prong got so hot, it melted the plastic of the cord. When I unplugged the cord from the computer, the metal prong stayed plugged in. Also, the part that plugs into the wall is not grounded. This was really a piece of junk. It probably would have been more worthwhile to smash my computer to bits, then glue it back together and hope the battery was miraculously charged again.

Bought 1 of these and used it for a couple months and i got a burning smell coming from my laptop. When i checked, it started burning the area around the charging port. Since I needed to use my laptop i continued to use it with caution, but the charger has now burned the tip that goes into the laptop so much that it cannot fit anynore......definitely would recommend that you buy an original charger or at least a name-brand charger to avoid such an experience

Almost perfect

I ordered this charger after I returned a similar charger which did not work well. The pros are that this charger is longer than most replacement chargers of the same design. The cons are that the cord sometimes fall out if it's not inserted into your laptop tightly and the charger does not contain a light on the adapter which indicates charger is plugged in. Overall the charger is great.
