Great replacement battery

I have a DELL Inspiron 1525 and the original battery drop dead at exactly one year. Original battery did not keep laptop running for more than 1 hour when was working, but suddenly failed and did not keep power at all. If I unplugged the laptop adapter the laptop shut down inmediatelly. I bought this battery 9 cell one year ago and still keeps running laptop at least 3 hours. I recommend this battery because the laptop does not recognize that is a non original replacement. I have heard that some batteries of other vendors are recognized by the DELL laptop as non originals and the software does not permit to charge them. My DELL is 2 years old and this replacement battery works good.

Does not fit my Dell 1525

The specs say it replaces a Dell M911G (and M911G is printed on the battery). It will slide into the computer, but does not fit properly, so the locks do not shut. As soon as I stand up the battery falls out and the computer shuts off.

A year later and it's dead.

This battery had noticable longevity when I first purchased it. Unfortunately less than a year it started to have shorter and shorter life until it could barely hold a charge. I haven't looked into the warranty, it may be covered but I was disappointed in the fact that I had to go back to the factory Dell battery which still works fine even after being stuck in a drawer for about a year.

Great Alternative!!!

A wonderful alternative that gave my notebook a much needed boost! The old battery was totally dead and wouldn't charge at all but this new battery holds up to 4 to 5 hours of use without needing to recharge. Excellent purchase. It does stick out about a quarter of an inch but I don't care as long as it works.

Very Good battery at a great price (ie $50), gets me about 5+ full hours, only sticks out about 8/10ths of an inch from back of computer, doesn't seem to add much additional weight, wish I'd bought this 9 cell battery a long time ago. Time with original Dell 6 cell battery (56wH) was only about 3 to 3 1/2 hours, and over the 18 months I've had the original Dell battery it seems like it eventually went to where I was only getting about 2 1/2 hours out of it.

Fresh Out of the package

Just after opening and inserting the replacement battery into my Inspiron 1526 I notice that the battery does extend beyond the back of the laptop by about an inch. It does stay locked into the laptop and is holding a charge, it was shipped with about 85% charge and so far I have charged it to about 90. I gave this item an "ok" three star rating because of the sellers failure to mention in the item description that that the battery is not the same size as the one it is supposed to be replacing. If you are reading this review and are trying to decide whether or not to purchase this battery and are only worried about functionality this may be a great listing for you, the battery seems to work. I have yet to test how long it holds its charge, but it does hold one. If you are looking for an exact replica and expect the battery to be flush with the laptop like the original, look elsewhere. Overall this battery is good for the price.
