It worked for a year and a half but has problems

Initial assessment (Nov-2010): I am using this battery on a Dell Vostro 1510. With a full charge I get about 3 hrs of operation.
My Issues are as follows:
1) The battery docks to the machine but I had to apply a bit of force to help it lock it in place.
2) The battery claims to be 7200mAH at 11.1V, which in my book is 7200*11.1=79920mWh. When using an application that can read the battery information it only claims a design capacity of 72000mWh, and it arrived to me with a 14% wear level (61920mWh), which translates to 61920mWh/11.1= 5578mAh (77% of the advertised capacity)
3) When the battery is fully depleted it recharges very slowwwwly. I would guess that it takes over 15 hours to fully recharge whether the laptop is on or off.

Update (Apr 2012): The battery worked as described above for approximately a year and a half and then went completely dead (meter at 0%, does not take a charge, does not deliver any power)

Popped it in and it worked!

I just received this battery for my Vostro 1510. I unplugged the computer, popped the battery in (had to line it up perfectly but it fit fine). It does add about an inch to the back of the laptop as the new battery sticks out a bit. I plugged the computer back in and left it charge for 10+ hours as it says on the sticker of the battery wrapper. Seems to be working fine and I'm getting several hours of use now compared to the 40 minutes I was getting from my old, original Dell battery.

Great Battery -- No Problems

This was a replacement for an original Dell extended battery for a Vostro 1510. Shipping was fast and arrived before the stated date. The battery popped right in perfectly and locked, just like the original Dell. It started charging immediately without any problems. The capacity in terms of hours is as great, if not greater than the original Dell battery at something over 4.4 hours. I am very pleased with this battery and I did not encounter any of the issues some of the other reviewer had as to poor fit or not charging or capacity. If I ever need another replacement battery for this laptop, this is the battery I will buy.

Not charging

Good replacement for the price

I looked at Dell OEM battery at $170 and decided to get this instead for my Vostro 1520. Cannot see me spending that much for a battery when I can get a new Vostro for $500-$600. The experience has been generally good.
Pros:
1. It works and the battery life is pretty good, comparable to the original extended battery.
2. It fits perfectly. It extends out just like the original extended battery.

Con:
1. Has compatibility issues. If you boot with the power cable plugged in, Vostro rejects the battery and doesn't charge it. The workaround is to boot up without the power cord pluged in. Once it gets through the Bios, you can plug the power cord in.
2. Once I left the battery run down completely and was not able to boot up. I did a Bios reset. Unlug the power cord and hold down the power button for 30 sec. Then I was able to charge the battery. For a couple of days it even went through the Bios check, but that came back.

For the price, I can live with the cons. Definitely a good buy.

Not much time on this battery

It will say you have about four hours, but if you time it, you don't. You might have an hour and a half, tops. We still keep the laptop plugged in, and would only rely on this battery in emergencies. The power goes out here often every winter, so we'd have to keep this charged and use the laptop sparingly.

I'm new to laptops, so maybe I expected too much. But this doesn't give a person much in the way of mobility. Since the laptop is our main computer, now, we're still tied to a power source with this 95% of the time. I wouldn't buy this again, and I wouldn't recommend it to friends.
