Just what I expected...It's just good stuff....

I bought this charger for two reasons. First, I take several trips a year in my car, and I travel with my HP Envy notebook computer, since all my business data is on that computer. Many rest stops now have free wi-fi and I can now power up my computer and check my business email, bank account, etc. I also use it in my RV when I am "boondocking", meaning I am camping in my RV without the utilities support of a commercial campground. Again, I can access my business documents, write letters, etc. Of course, I could use the inverter in my RV that changes my 12 VDC battery power to 120 VAC, then plug my notebook power supply into that. But, since the output of the power supply to the computer is 19.5 VDC, I'd be changing 12 volts DC to 120 VAC and then back to 19.5 VDC...a double conversion that would be less efficient and inconvenient than a single device that converts 12 VDC directly to 19.5 VDC.

The unit seems well made, the cord lengths are as specified, and the adapter plugs into my "CL" type DC power receptacles just fine. There isn't a lot to say about this unit because it works very well. It was delivered on time and powers my computer. I'm extremely happy with this unit, as I have been with all PWR+ products that I have bought in the past. When I need power adapters, I depend on PWR+. I really don't use any other brand, except those supplied with the original equipment. It's just good stuff.

I have a 17 inch laptop that draws a fair amount of power from the 12v outlet in my car. I've tried several different approaches to powering the laptop, including the use of a 12v dc to ac converter which allows me to use the original ac charger. I've also used various different converters that converts dc 12v to dc 19v: The problem is that you must find one that has the tip you need. When I upgraded my laptop to an HP Envy 17t, I could not find a dc/dc converter with the right tip. So, I was left with only a few choices.

I decided to get the Pwr+ 90W laptop car charger, and see how well it works. I've been using it everyday for about 2 months, and so far it exceeds my expectations. The powerbrick never gets hot. The tip fits perfectly in my HP laptop. The 12v male plug fits snugly in my car 12v power receptacle (I have a 2014 toyota prius), and it never wiggles loose. The Pwr+ charger will charge my laptop just a quick as the AC charger. I haven't had any issues with this charger, so I'm giving it 5 stars. I will update this review if I have any problems within the first year.

Works Great In Your Car, Don't Use An Inverter

Don't use an inverter to convert your car's 12 volt DC to 120 volt AC, then plug your wall 120 volt AC charger to convert down to 19.5 volt DC to power your laptop, that is silly and very inefficient, will burn a lot of power doing the double-conversion. Instead buy this car charger to convert your car's 12 volt DC to 19.5 volt DC to power your laptop. Even if you don't use your laptop in your car you can charge it while driving to it's charged for your next appointment or meeting. And this price is insignificant.

I tested the auto charger today and it performed very well. I ran the HP laptop for several hours without AC power and then hooked up the car charger during a short drive. Power level at beginning was 43%. After charging for about 15 minutes in the car - WITH THE COMPUTER RUNNING, the power level was 56%. At that rate, it should recharge the battery to full charge in a couple of hours, even while using the computer. I am very satisfied.
