Cooling Flexibility

Very well done cooling pad - I show the Dual Fan model, and it draws a small 0.45 amps (5v), so it will run fine through USB Hubs connected to the laptop as well as lasting a pretty decent time even powered by low-capacity or higher portable batteries. This low draw along with it being fairly lightweight (24.11 ounces) make it a possible travel companion, albeit a bulky one.

And not just for laptops! Also a great choice for console game stations. And although a bit big, it may be the oversized option you want for cooling multiple External HDD/Sata Drives. I used this pad for a good long while with my Alienware M17x R3 and a display/USB 3.0 hub both on it (my laptop hanging off the front a 1/3 of the way), keeping them frosty until I finally got a new PC.

Does its job well

This 17 inch Laptop Cooling Fan from Tenswall is a well-constructed product. To test the strength of the mesh surface I laid several large books on it and it supported them without sagging. (Since its purpose is to cool a laptop, it's unlikely that you'll put this much weight on top of the fan.)

The dual-fan version, which is the one I received, measures approximately 15" X 11". Most laptops should fit on this surface. But even if your laptop has some overlap, this won't be a problem, since three of the four sides have air vents so the heat can escape. You can also use this fan for game consoles.

The fan comes with a USB cable and can be charged through the computer’s USB port. The fan is relatively quiet.

Tenswall 17 inch Laptop Cooling Pad with Dual Fans and Blue LED lights

Lightweight with a mesh metal top and plastic open patterned base housing two large six and a half inch fans, this cooling mat is designed to maximize airflow. My old laptop runs hot and without a cooling mat overheats and shuts off. Since I keep it running 24 hours a day I have burned through a number of cooling mats and this design is by far the most effective.

Other elements I like about this particular unit are the way the laptop and mat connect, the definitive on-off switch, the careful construction and finishing so there are no rough edges (something encountered with one mat catching on clothing) and the extra USB port so there is no loss of a port when using the mat.

The included 24 inch cable is a male USB A to male USB A so, unlike the design of other mats where one end of a very thin wire is hard-wired into the device which can be easily damaged or pulled out with fatal consequences, with this setup a sharp inadvertent tug will simply pull out the USB plug. It is a sturdy, more practical build and should add to the life of the unit.

The design is user friendly and carefully considered which is evidenced by the extra USB port on the back of the unit. There are never enough ports so this extra USB slot makes up for the one used by the cooling mat. And, although not essential, I prefer the definitive click of the on/off switch instead of simply plugging it in and starting automatically.

And, although not absolutely necessary, I like the cool blue LED lights that illuminate the fan blades. Not much of the light shows beyond the edge of my laptop but I suppose they are a good indicator if the mat is accidentally unplugged. Finally, built into the back edge of the unit are solid folding legs.Read more ›

The Dual unit quickly brings down my hp temperatures.

Very Nice! The Mesh metal on the top holds firm. Comparing it to my cool-master, the cool-master will actually hit the fan if I press down with my hand or turn it at an angle with the laptop on it. The Tenswall dual fan cooling pad is holding up without issue. There is an off on switch on the back of the unit. When you turn it on, the 2 fans plus blue LEDs turn on. For a moment I thought I was going to loose a usb port and the cool master would have had the edge on that point.. but no the unit has an added port in the back of the unit next to the on/off switch.

Side note- I do wish the usbport was intgrated into the the cable or the side of the unit, but it maybe for the best... you wont accidently hit it with a mouse or something.
