You get what you pay for...

I had reservations buying a charger that was so cheap, but hadn't read many negative reviews so figured I'd give it a shot. Should have trusted my gut. I did receive the product in an adequate amount of time. It was packaged well also, leaving me with a sense that maybe I'd found an exception. I plugged it in and sure enough it worked like a charm. It didn't charge my computer battery, but did allow me to use my system plugged in. I was cautious to turn off my computer so to not overwork the charger, but to no avail it kicked the bucket a few days ago. No green light = no power = no computer. It turned out to be junk! Only comfort I have is that I spent under ten bucks on it. Though it's not worth the inconvenience of being w/o my computer while I wait for the next one to come in. This time around I think I'll bite the bullet and buy straight from Dell. The product worked for approximately a month.

Dell Inspiron 1501 replacement power supply

When my daughter first tried to use this adapter it would not work. I spent some time looking up possible reasons for it not working. She ended up removing the old adapter from her hardware file and had to install the new adapter. So far, so good! Can't beat the price!

Item worked better than expected

Yes I am aware that I bought a cheap replacement battery. It's worked for a month. It hasn't exploded, or damaged my computer. It is way too light to be the real deal and the connection is a bit too loose meaning if the cord gets jostled the slightest bit it falls out of the laptop, causing my computer to start loosing charge without my knowledge. Ultimately I give it a 4 since so far its outlasted its reasonable life expectancy, but the loose connection makes it hard to deal with. I am happy to have a power source for my computer and as the laptop has seen better days, having a charger that is a wee bit cantankerous just adds to the fact that my laptop has been around for awhile.

I think someone else mentioned this, but the plug ends are a tad bit smaller that the original, so they tend to come loose very easily. They fit, but not snuggly. I've had this thing for a very long time now, and I have had no problems at all. It does get warm but actually not as warm as the original and it is so much cheaper!! I will buy again if this one ever dies on me. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars and not more is because the plug ends do not fit snuggly (the one that goes into the back of the laptop and the one that goes into the power supply/converter thing in the middle) The actual "plug" that goes into the wall is fine.
