Good keyboard...But VERY hard to replace.

Keyboard works great with Asus Q200 laptop...BUT be warned that the keyboard is VERY difficult to replace in this laptop. You literally have to take all the laptop guts out...this involves lots of little screws and tons of patience.

Two local computer shops wanted $300 to replace the keyboard simply because of the time involved. I managed to get convince my friend to help and it took us 3 hours.

But...in the end it works....so hooray for that!

Watched a video online about removing the motherboard and all components to install this and once I had it in, it worked flawlessly! Buttoning the computer back up was easy and I was back to using the machine without paying hundreds to have someone else replace it.

Replacing the keyboard in my Asus netbook was quite the challenge. I had to remove many screws that are bound by Locktite in most cases, and then clip off the melted plastic bindings that held the old keyboard together. Putting things back wasn't that bad. The old keyboard was mostly dead - don't know why; the laptop was given to me as is for work. With the new keyboard every key works, although the CTRL and ALT keys for some reason need to be pressed quite hard to work, so CTRL-C and CTRL-V cause mistypes :-) But otherwise I'm glad it was such a cheap fix. Given the price I am very happy.

installation was a bit of a pain, this keyboard lists itself as compatible with
the ASUS X202, but the left shift, return key, and "\" backslash are slightly
different, i had to modify the chassis slightly for it to work.
in the end, the keyboard is a working replacement.

Replacing a ASUS keyboard

I had some dead keys on the right side of the keyboard. I followed a youtube video to remove the old keyboard and install this one. If you're not in a hurry and can keep track of numerous screws this is an inexpensive fix that worked perfectly.
