Great budget tablet, very good build quality

We are a Point of Sale company based out of St. Louis and have been using this tablet as a mobile solution for a few customers. We absolutely love these units. The run very well, have dual band wifi (a must for crowded metropolitan areas), and get tremendous battery life (we get 8-10 hours out of our units between charge). The touchscreen is acurate, and the screen is very vibrant and bright. The units run well and are very well built. We have tried a couple of competitors with mixed results, typically suffering from deign flaws or hardware issues. We have had no major issues with these units.

There is, however, a bug with Windows 8. About 50% of the time or so, the units crash when restarting. This still happens even after all of the firmware and windows updates are installed. This issue also happens on other Windows 8 tablets too, just letting you know that this one suffers from the BSOD restart bug. We haven't had too much issue with this as we simply have disabled the ability for the units to shut down. The user must hold the power for 8 seconds to power off, and then power back on again. This is working rather well for us, but keep in mind you might suffer data loss if you shut down your unit this way. We have ours set up in such a way that there is no risk of data loss using this method.

I believe the restart issue will be addressed soon, and once it is, this is hands down the best Windows 8 tablet available for the price. Just keep in mind, the 32GB drive is pretty small. Our units show 9.4GB free after all windows updates installed with no other software installed, so you might consider the 64GB if you are needing more storage than a couple GB.

poor quality

after 6 months use the screen showed 2 black lines, I sent it for repair under warrantee, and they said there are invisible crack on the screen and not covered by warrantee, asked for 750 to repair, the lenovo thinkpad was barely used so how could its screen crack by itself, apparently a quality issue

Just say NO to LeNOvo

I bought a lenovo Thinkpad tablet 2 from lenovo. It took 2 weeks exactly to receive it in the mail. Right out of the box it would not charge at all. After 3 hours of use the battery went from 61% to 6% in less than five minutes and it still would not charge. Sent it back and they charged me $36 for a restocking fee. I learned my lesson and will never own another LeNOvo product again. Do yourself a favor. Save a bunch of trouble and look somewhere else!!! JUST SAY NO TO LEnoVO.
