Nice laptop, but it has a couple of flaws, which I will point out below:

1. The screen is beautiful, but has pretty severe backlight bleeding in the corners (all of them). How much this annoys you, only you can say. It doesn't bother me except when watching dark scenes in movies, which doesn't come up often in my daily use.

2. There's some kind of compatibility issue with Crucial SSD's. I don't know what's going on, but a lot of people have tried to install Crucial M500's and MX100's in it without success. Changing settings from UEFI to BIOS, or any of the myriad of other options doesn't do a damn thing. Worse thing is, neither Crucial nor Lenovo (which, in my opinion, should have issue a BIOS update as soon as it became aware) will or want to acknowledge this very serious problem. LENOVO, WAKE UP!!!

Other than these 2 issues, the notebook itself is great. It's fairly quiet even under 100% load and it's pretty fast. The keyboard feels good (one of the major strong points of Lenovo) and music sounds great when plugging in a headphone - much better than other laptops I've had in the past, actually.

I just wish it had more USB 3.0 ports, as they're really useful and 10x better than the standard 2.0 ports.

Overall I would recommend it, if you can get it for a good price. I got mine in a very nice weekly deal. If it wasn't for that deal however, I would have looked at a different laptop from Lenovo or Asus.

I ordered this laptop because I was looking for something mobile (i.e., mobile office) but also very capable. I'm a part time professor at a local university and must find my own desk space to prepare lectures and meet with student. As such, I never know where I might be on any given day, so my "office" needs to be mobile. This is why I went for the slightly smaller 14 inch laptop. I mainly use this laptop to create .ppt lectures, access the Internet to conduct research and maintain my Blackboard site, etc. I also attach a second AOC monitor via the USB 3.0 port which works very well.

The i7 is a very capable processor for my needs above. I have watched HBO Go, and have no complaints. It comes with 1 USB 3.0 port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, one RJ45 Ethernet port which I use wherever one is available, one HDMI port, one SD card reader, and 802.11bgn. I haven't tested the read/write speeds of the hybrid drive, but it feels faster than my 15" lenovo i5 hard drive. It does not have a separate numerical keypad like most 15 inch laptops do.

It does not come with an internal dvd drive, which would've been nice considering this is a 14 inch laptop, but I've attached an older external HP dvd drive to the USB ports and it works fine. For those who wish to watch dvds using an external drive, you'll need to install your own dvd player app since one does not come in the suite of programs that I received with this laptop.

I've had no issues using the touch screen. However, the flex does not flex 360 degrees to become "tablet-like" It configures into a "tent" instead, which may have limited use if you're looking for something that you can use like a tablet. The screen orientation will automatically adjust the angle in tent mode.

After having several disappointments from Dell laptops I decided to try a Lenovo and have been impressed with the Flex 2. My last Dell went to the grave after a little over a year and I had hated it from the day I purchased it so I didn't mourn too long. I went four months without a computer (sharing my husband's which he wasn't too thrilled with) and did alot of research on laptops. I read reviews from several different sites, compared several models, and finally decided on the Flex 2. It was at the higher end of my budget but I'm glad I splurged.

I usually have several programs open at a time along with multiple tabs and it hasn't let me down yet. It's a workhorse. I'm still learning Windows 8.1 but the computer itself is great. It has plenty of memory, speed, and I can plug in any of my USB gadgets and even take the SD card from my camera and insert it (something I couldn't do with one of my Dells). Love this laptop! One of my favorite features is the touchscreen. I love being able to swipe through email or scroll down a document online - the screen does get smudged easily so it needs cleaned regularly just like a phone or Kindle. I can use it on a table as a laptop as easily as using it in tent mode while watching a 'how-to' video. The speakers are louder than my other laptops had been. The battery doesn't have a super long life but I knew that when I bought it so that's not an issue for me. I don't use it for gaming, but I have let one of my kids use it to play an online game using his Steam account and it was fast enough for the game.

Overall, this computer has been worth every dollar I spent because my family doesn't hear me yell at my laptop anymore or get frustrated when it locks up because I was trying to do more than two things at once.

pros:
Everything except cons
cons:
Display: Brightness is mediocre at highest setting, but good in indoors. The frame feels a bit delicate. Touch is excellent though.
keyboard: Something is not right. Feels a bit delicate and uncomfortable to type initially, but you will get the hang of it. Trackpad is not bad, once you get used to it.
Biggest con the Battery: Don't even think of relying on it for travel. Be ready with your charger at the charging port :). p.s: I don't travel much. I knew about this before buying. The thing i didn't know was that it's inbuilt.
Sound: Not very loud.

Overall good laptop for daily use and running big applications. Price should not be more than 500.
