Bought this laptop at Fry's but it was the same price and same model number on amazon. For $598 its a damn good deal for what you get. Every other competing laptop with 8gb of ram and an i7 5500U was at least $150 or $200 more. Plus the 1TB HDD is nice too. (Even though I will be replacing with a 500gb ssd). Very a happy with the performance.
Wasn't planning on using it for gaming so that's why I went cheaper and got one with a decent cpu and ram to boast. The on board graphics in the chip-set isn't bad, but you're definitely not going to be playing Metro Last Light or even Battlefield Bad Company 2 for that matter. Maybe some older games such as counter strike source or BF2. Basically, spend at least $1100 on a gaming laptop if you want that.
For applications it's great. Granted I spent about 45 minutes deleting all of the useless bloatware, but that's to be expected with a pre-build. No slowdowns or stutters so far. I have been running Multiple Flash videos and some internet games sanctimoniously with no issues.
Not sure how it will hold up against editing videos and things like that, but it should do the job nicely.
The keyboard is very nice with solid keys. The full keyboard with a ten key on the side is a nice touch. I wish it was backlit though.
Battery life is good with about 5 hours with just general use like browsing the internet, or writing documents. And about 3 and a half to 4 hours while watching videos. It also depends on the screen brightness. I keep mine kind of low to save battery. As of right now there doesn't seem to be any extended batteries for this specific model. Hopefully that will change in the coming months.

My only real complaint about this laptop so far is the sound could be a little better.

Laptop is good with latest features, but it doesn't come with backlight keyboard, its quite heavy and backside battery seems shakes when you hold the laptop though it has properly fitted, capslock key is quite loose may be its specific machine.

some times i hear fan running noise and laptop getsheated but most of the time its noiseless.
look and feel of the laptop is not quite good. i have not installed any softwares so far so not sure about performance.

so far its very fast and comes up fast from sleep and it connects to wifi all the time, so i feel its worth the money.

I purchased this computer a month ago and could not be happier. I build responsive websites for clients and use this as a dedicated web work computer. It's fast and hasn't had any issues in the first month of use.

I read a review that said the sound wasn't all that great. I don't listen to music or play games so the sound is fine as far as I'm concerned. If you're playing games or listening to music you might want to buy a more expensive model.

All my web building software works great on this machine. I just haven't found anything I don't like about this computer.

Nice laptop for general needs. Am considering buying another for my son. He plays WoT on it and loves it.
Plenty of HD space!

Works really well. Windows 10 is much better than Windows 8. Lenovo is a great brand and this is a good computer for the price.

I've had this for a week now. First impressions are good. I've deleted a few apps as they have no interest to me. I upgraded to windows 10 straight away as I don't like windows 8 so I am still learning as my old laptop is windows 7. So far the only typing I have done is emails but already the most annoying feature about this laptop is that unless you hit it right in the middle, the space bar doesn't work. I am not a typist so I look at the keys while I am typing. I only typed one line but when I looked up there were 3 instances where the spacebar hadn't worked and words were joined together. This slows you down when you have to keep going back to put spaces in. Not sure what I can do about this and I know it's really going to annoy me. The jury's still out on whether I will get on with this laptop.

For everything I needed, this has been perfect. It's still fairly new but it has a sleek look and handles nice. The key board and touch pad are nicely spaced and is one of the easier laptops I've used in that aspect. It has all the ports I needed including HDMI. Especially for the price I bought for I would highly recommend it.

I am totally satisfied with my new Lenovo G50 15.6 Inch Laptop. It has all the hard drive space I could possibly use. However, I don't use it to play video games with. I like the keyboard and the screen. I feel like it is a very good quality laptop computer that is worth the money I paid for it. I chose the Lenovo brand computer because the large corporation that I work for uses Lenovo laptops and they highly endorse them.
