Genuine Lenovo - Works Well

This is a genuine Lenovo adapter, and it works well with my laptop. Don't cheap out on something like this. Twenty five or thirty bucks is about the *least* you want to pay for a power brick. Anything much less, and they're probably cutting corners with a poor design and poor components - and it might damage your expensive laptop. There are many fakes on Amazon, but I think this is the real deal.

Don't leave this plugged in and unattended

I just received my second charger yesterday and it's working like it's supposed to. 5 Stars for it. Unfortunately, the first one I received would only charge intermittently out of the box. After a bit of troubleshooting, found that it probably had a loose wire internally in the cord running from the wall to the transformer. A little later that same day, I smelled something burning and turned to see smoke coming from the cord! By the time I was able to unplug it from the wall the plastic had begun to melt. If I had not had been sitting at my PC while this happened, it could have been much worse.

I returned it and looked at getting one directly from Lenovo, even at 2X the price of Amazon. However, their website said it would be at least a week before it could ship. I couldn't wait that long so I'm taking a chance on another one of these. So far so good but I'm not leaving it alone while plugged in until I'm comfortable this one isn't defective as well.

Based on many of the other reviews on this product, Lenovo has a significant defect issue on their hands. This is the first Lenovo PC I've had and it may well be the last because of this issue.

Makes a fine Lenovo Yoga 2 charger as well.

Two months later review:

I always have my Lenovo Yoga 2 on the go and constantly need charging the thing. I am tired of having to disconnect it from the desk and placing it in my backpack at the end of the day. One time I forgot the cable and missed out on an assignment for class. One charger was not enough. This well priced charger solved my problem. Now I have one at my desk at home and the other all the time in my backpack just in case.

There have been no problems of not charging, slow charging, etc. This is basically another new legitimate lenovo charger. It is supposedly intended for the Ideapad but works fine on the Yoga 2.

Does exactly the trick. My cat chewed the cord on my original charger, and I attempted to buy a replacement charger from Best Buy. The only one they had that fit my laptop was some generic thing with attachments(and it was twice the price). My computer actually said that it was "plugged in, not charging" with that charger, so I was concerned it might do that with this, but it has worked just as well as the original!

Stopped Working shortly after purchase

Bought this product for use with my Lenovo Yoga 13, worked great for about 10-12 days and then stopped working altogether. The connector between the wall and the adapter itself overheated like crazy to the point where I could smell burning rubber. Disappointed, because the charger seemed to be working so well.

It works, but the outlet is a three prong (w/ground), whereas my ThinkPad Yoga came with a two prong. It does work though so it is work it for a spare charger. I keep one at home and one at work. Glad I bought it.
