This really is the best bang for the buck when it comes to cheap laptops. It's got a great, well reviewed processor. Really good LED screen. All the standard usb, dvdr and whatnot. Even has bluetooth, which is a nice feature. And a terabyte of hard drive space - I'll never use all that up.
I had a Lenovo laptop before this one and it, also, was very affordable. Lasted me 4 long years of constant use, which, for the price, I am quite satisfied with. Shopped around and found this gem for only $299. Really tough price to beat given all the specs. Highly recommend!

I just bought this laptop yesterday from Best Buy for 299.00 to replace my ASUS laptop that was 4 years old and a Core i5. I am real glad that you can find descent products without having to pay an arm and a leg. I really wasn't in the mood for thinking that I would have to spend another $600 on another laptop. I love the ample hard disk space (I don't think that I will run out of room) but I am finding that I will probably need more memory to run certain aps and things that I run on a regular basis. I am loving the fact that it is even more light weight than my old laptop. The processor speed I can get used to since it is a change from what I got used to with my ASUS. I can definitely tell the difference between a Core i5 and AMD but it wont be too hard to try to adjust. I got basically the same specs that I lost when I sold my ASUS.

People were wondering why their new computer was running so slowly. The company was adding spyware and hijacking your images.

QUOTE:

Consumer trust in the world’s largest PC manufacturer plummeted last week after users discovered the company had been shipping its PCs with spyware — what the industry calls adware — buried deep in its operating system, precisely where consumers and antivirus products would have difficulty finding it.

Then things got worse. The adware was intended to serve Lenovo users targeted ads, but the company Lenovo partnered with to do this, Superfish, did so by hijacking the trusted certificates that websites use to connect securely to web browsers. And Superfish was doing so in such a way that made it possible for the company, and hackers, to take complete control of their machines.

It would appear there is little room for plausible deniability. The company Superfish used to hijack those certificates, Komodia, specializes in hijacking encrypted communications. Superfish has not responded to requests for comment.

Lenovo claims it eradicated all traces of Superfish and Komodia from its systems last week, but customers and security researchers say that is not enough. Many have asked why anyone would trust the company in the future.

FIRST OFF...Let me say to anyone leaving reviews about this computer being "slow", or poor quality, that you're problems are most likely due to a USER ERROR..AKA...YOU NEED TO WATCH SOME YOUTUBE VIDEOS OR GOOGLE THE BEST SETTINGS FOR THE COMPUTER AND WHAT TASKS YOU ARE USING IT FOR...

I purchased this laptop about 6 months ago and have had zero problems with it..Computer is LIGHT WEIGHT and stays very cool compared to my HP..The only thing negative about this laptop is the battery life is pretty short, so keep it plugged in..I upgraded the RAM to 8gb because I am a computer programmer/web developer, and it runs extremely fast and performs flawlessly..but for normal internet surfing and simple work/school related tasks you will have no issues with the 4gb it comes with. 100% worth the price and out performs my HP ENVY that cost $1000.. NEVER BUY HP LAPTOPS THEY ALWAYS HAVE OVER HEATING OR SCREEN ISSUES!!!!!

UPGRADE THE RAM TO 8GB AND ADJUST YOUR SETTINGS A BIT, IF YOU PLAN ON RUNNING BIGGER PROGRAMS OR MULTIPLE PROGRAMS AT THE SAME TIME. ALSO, UNINSTALL/DELETE ALL THE PRE-INSTALLED AD-WARE AND PROGRAMS THAT COME ON IT..RUNS SO MUCH FASTER!

ALSO FOR ANYONE WHO DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT WINDOWS...IT COMES WITH SOMETHING CALLED "WINDOWS DEFENDER", WHICH IS ONE OF THE BEST ANTI-VIRUS AND FIREWALL'S OUT THERE..BUT ISN'T "TURNED-ON" BECAUSE THEY WANT YOU TO BUY THE BULLS*** THEY ARE SELLING...SO DON'T INSTALL THE MCAFEE OR WHATEVER OTHER ANTI VIRUS THEY TRY TO SELL YOU...JUST GO TO THE WINDOWS PROGRAM SEARCH BAR, AND TYPE IN "WINDOWS DEFENDER" TO FIND IT IN THE SETTINGS AND TURN IT ON..(THIS IS ON ANY VERSION OF THE WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM...FYI)

YOU CAN OBVIOUSLY FORM YOUR OWN OPINION WHEN IT COMES TO THIS DECISION, BUT ME BEING WHAT PEOPLE CALL A "COMPUTER GUY", I FEEL OBLIGATED TO INFORM EVERYONE!

=)

I really love this laptop. It's a little big, but I like the bigger size as I have a tablet for smaller tasks. Even though it's a bit big, it's thin & still fairly lightweight. This has a DVD/CD player, SD card input, several USB inputs & a USB 3.0 input & a projector input. I didn't know if I'd really need the DVD player or SD inputs, but I went through a lot of my old pictures I had saved from older devices & DVDs & they both really came in handy so I can consolidate my pics. I have had mine for 3 months now & have been very pleased with the purchase. I use it mostly for compiling my pictures, using MS Office products for business items, checking e-mail, a little surfing & streaming videos too. I highly recommend it.
