Simply a beast that everyone would love!

This Y70 touchscreen laptop is a beast! The chassis comes with a nicely brushed metal, and the hinge has an appropriate amount of resistance. It delivers everything I needed: solid graphics performance, cool keyboard, and really responsive Full HD1080P touchscreen into a large 17.3-inch frame, and adds a good number of powerful components to boot. The screen is bright, vivid and rich with vibrant colors. This has consistently brought seamless performance with demanding games at their best image-quality settings.

The laptop boots up within a few seconds thanks to the pure SSD. 512GB is spacious enough so I won't worry about storage. With at least five programs running at the same time, I rarely feel a lag which I would give the credit to the quad core Intel i7-4720HQ processor and 16GB memory. I plan to boost it to the maximum 3.6GHz turbo frequency and then update the review.

The JBL speakers sound awesome. As for the battery life, I was able to play more than 3 hours with some simple internet surfing, music and watching some online videos.

awesome gaming laptop

This is the first laptop I have purchased for gaming and I am very happy with its performance. I have been gaming for 8 years on desktops.

The laptop is subjectively really good looking. The machine looks professional and classic. The 17.3" HD is big enough to watch movie or play games.

It's backlit keyboard can be turned off, set at medium or high settings, which is nice, and the laptop's brushed metal outside with a matte rubber inside makes it look and feel very nice. At the same time, you don't get that over-the-top game-y look with LED lights everywhere. You do get what you see in the pictures, and it catches many eyes with it.

The performance of the laptop is rather cool and quiet. The exhausts are properly laid out to insure the most efficient cooling. While idle or light browsing, the laptop is pretty much silent and when under full load. Overall, I could play games without headphones and not be distracted.

The JBL® stereo speakers and subwoofer are actually really awesome. Two front facing speakers and a subwoofer make decent loud and solid sound signature no matter what volume I play it on.

Over all it is a very fast, great looking and performing laptop! I am really happy about it so far!

Worth the price, excellent value

Everything you may ask for. It's 17.3 inch non-wide anti-glare touchscreen gives the most natural look and feel. Four 4G i7 cores, perfect for gaming or high demand scientific applications. Even loops of R would run faster here if you know what I mean. 16 GB RAM, how much more could you want in a laptop. The Blue tooth allows you o connect many gaming accessories, including cell phone. Hard disk is half the capacity you usually get these days in laptops (i.e. half TB) but think again, it's solid state, the capacity is not in space, but performance. The only downsides are lower battery span (5 hours) and weight (7 lbs). But given this is an extreme heavy duty gaming laptop, that is justified.

A really good gaming laptop
This laptop is definitely a monster. The 4th-gen Quad-Core i7 cpu, 16G ram and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M with 4G graphic ram enable any big games to run smoothly like silk. And plus 512 GB SSD, You would never feel any lag with this computer. 17-inch screen is already the largest we can get on a laptop. Even the audio part is very amazing too, JBL stereo speakers and subwoofer with Dolby Advanced AudioTM, it is hard to complain anything about it. I would recommend it to all serious gamers.

It is really a good gaming laptop

It is really a good gaming laptop. The 860M NVidia runs the current game at very high resolution, especially compared to my desktop. The 17 inch laptop is also a great replacement for the desktop. The touch screen is another shining point for this laptop and it is very bright at dark. The speaker is awesome. I like the loud and clear sound when playing the game. Overall, it is a great deal to buy this gaming laptop.
