This laptop cooler is is very comfortable on ones lap, and has a lot of cooling power for its size. The fan blades on it are really good size and they move a lot of air. As for the blue light, it seems to have no other purpose but to look cool, but I really like it. Unfortunately this cooler has one design flaw that is a big miss in my opinion. Every other cooler I have ever tried has some type of lip or wedge at the bottom to keep the unit from slipping forward. This one doesn't have anything on it and it slips down on me very easily when I am working and its elevated. In fact it slides so easily that I am surprised no other reviewer here has mentioned it. The unit has some really nice non slip wedges on the bottom of it, but where the computer sits there is really nothing like it, and as said before, there is no wedge at the bottom to keep it from sliding forward. Personally it drives me crazy and I don't like for that reason. Its comfy on ones lap, has some nice cooling power, and seems solidly built, but I don't like the lack of a wedge on it...

I have used another cooling pad that was louder than this one. The Lot Fancy by comparison is very quiet. Its two fans work without almost any noise, at least when a laptop is placed on top. Mine, an HP ProBook, fit exactly. The blue light can be a bit bold, but it does not of course show as much when in use with a device. The two fans are a bit bigger each than a CD.

Simple to use, a power switch and two USB outlets. They are placed at the center rear to allow the plugs to reach either side of a device. There are also two small plastic props at the top ends if you wish to increase the angle of the pad on a tabletop a bit. There are four rubber pads on the bottom to enhance its grip on surfaces, too. I was asked to review this and this is my report.

This laptop cooler works well in my TV cabinet to cool a PlayStation 3 (2nd gen slim model) that is used for gaming and blu-ray watching. It' is slightly larger than the footprint of the PS3 allowing for good air circulation. The lights do look kind of silly in the TV cabinet but are a good indication it is on and running since it is very quiet. The supplied USB cord is just long enough to reach around from the back of the fan to plug in to the front of the ps3 without straining the wire. This unit is slightly wedge shaped with the feet folded out, this has no effect on the ps3 performance. Unit comes on and shuts off with the ps3 power and is invisible when off. I would definitely purchase this again for use with my actual laptop, or if this one gives out.

I received this as a free review sample and it was sorely needed because the internal fan in my ThinkPad T61 finally died. Note: if you are looking at this as a cure know that many laptops report a fan failure then shut down. In the case of mine, I found that I could press the On/Off button briefly when that happened and it would power back up and boot Windows.

This fan array moves a lot of air, promoting excellent heat transfer. So far it has worked well and I have had no premature shutdowns (although I still have to go through the On/Off button sequence every time I power the ThinkPad up.)

Do be aware that this fan array will interfere with other USB peripherals if you power it directly from your laptop, and especially if you add even more peripherals to the ports integrated into this unit. That is because the power draw form USB ports may exceed the capacity of the laptop, especially if you are running it off an unpowered USB hub. I had that problem when I tried running this, a mouse and a speaker from my laptop. I moved this one to a powered hub and the problem was immediately resolved.

Also, this raises a laptop 1 3/8 inches higher at its lowest setting. For me it took a day to become accustomed to the raised typing height, but since it solved a genuine problem the tradeoff was worth it. Just know that you will need to adjust to that and it may slow down your productivity for a day or two.

If your laptop has a fully functioning internal fan this array will augment that and keep your laptop cool even in unairconditioned spaces on a hot day. That will definitely prolong the life of the internal electronics and the hard drive.

My last laptop died a slow death due to over heating. It would unexpectedly shut down, and those shut downs became more and more frequent until it finally just quit for good. I have a 17" Asus that I use now, it has different cooling features than my last laptop, but during hot weather with heavy usage, I'm still worried that this will go the way my last pc did.

This cooling pad does fit under my 17" laptop, with a bit of overlap on the part of my laptop. This cooling pad measures 14.96" x 11.02" x 1.10" inch. My laptop is approximately 16.5" x 12.5",...it still works out. There are two little fold-out feet at the top so you can raise your computer to a more comfortable angle if you like. If I have my pc on my lap or on the bed I use a lap desk underneath it. I was still able to slide this cooling pad in between my laptop and the lap desk without it being uncomfortably bulky.

There are two fans that light up a pretty purplish color while it's on. Since this cooling pad didn't extend all the way out to the edges of my computer, the lights weren't distracting to me. There is an On/Off button at the back next to the two USB ports, and this cooling pad also includes a USB cable so you can plug into your pc. The mesh covering helps keep the two fans protected. While on, I could feel a slight draw of air underneath, and I did notice the sides being a bit cooler than normal,... nothing drastic, but enough to notice. This is also nice and quiet,... good cooling pad for the price. :)
