This MSI GT80 Titan SLI is a powerful gaming laptop, and the first I've got my hands on with a mechanical keyboard, but top performance doesn't quite overcome a hulking, awkward design.

PROS:
+ Potent performance with an Intel Core i7-4720HQ processor and dual Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M graphics.
+ Unique design with mechanical keyboard.
+ Giant 18.4-inch display.
+ Components are easy to access and upgrade.

CONS:
- Clunky design.
- Short battery life.

A good all-round top performing laptop but the design is bulky, and worth comparing to something like this Asus here: http://amzn.to/1OnbYNM

I've had my new machine for three weeks now and so far I love everything about it.

Some complain about the weight and design to which I disagree. The weight should have been expected as it's in the specs or should have been obvious due to screen size and content. IMHO there is no way around hulking and clunky when you want an 18+” screen, two vids and number pad.
As for battery life, once again this machine wasn’t design for an office meeting although is does did well for sharing a PowerPoint on the go. It was meant for nomad-gamers with the intent to own their buddies from the hotel or bar after a long day of traveling. :P The solution would be to plug it in. No laptop is going to run top shelf games for long on battery power.

The mech-keys are awesome from use to maintenance to replacement... solid design. I love the keyboard being upfront. My last travel-gaming-station (Alienware) had it stuffed in the back which required your wrists to be on the edge of the PC. I had to drag a keyboard around, no longer

PROS:
+ i7-4720HQ processor & (2) Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M graphics provide some sick gaming power. It scored mid-3K on 3DMark
+ Super cool mechanical keyboard.
+ Number one priority for me was a large 18.4-inch display.
+ Components are easy to access and upgrade.
+ I am a tall, big guy so the weight doesn’t bother me much. I can see how it would be rough on a kid or a smaller human. But, once the traveling is done and it’s time to play I really think the weight is an asset as it provides a solid foundation for some serious key mashing. :P

CONS:
I have none (so far) other than it being pricey and the wife kicked me into the dog-house for a couple of days. HA (dog-house=awesome man-cave) But you get what you pay for, so they say. Only time will tell as I have only had it for a few weeks.
Peace, cheers and see ya on the battle field…

There are laptops, and then there are desktop replacements, hulking beasts which you don’t want anywhere near your lap. DTRs tend to be bulky, heavy, and hot. But they also sport the fastest hardware available in a mobile form factor. That’s why gamer's who are unwilling to compromise on performance don’t mind lugging them around. And no DTR puts performance first as well as MSI’s GT80 Titan SLI.

This system’s specifications do all of the talking. Most notably, you get two GeForce GTX 980M graphics modules, each with 8GB of GDDR5 memory, running in SLI. That’s frankly overkill for the 18.4” panel and its 1920x1080 native resolution. However, if you’re really using the GT80 as a desktop replacement, two mini-DisplayPort connectors and an HDMI output give you some interesting options for attaching external monitors. We hooked up Asus’ PQ321 4K panel and recorded an average of 39.3 FPS in our taxing Metro: Last Light benchmark using the Very High detail preset. The same test runs at 91 FPS on the GT80’s FHD panel, so you just know those 980Ms are meant for higher resolutions.

Of course, there’s nothing wrong with playing on that big 18.4” PLS screen either. It offers great viewing angles and a non-reflective surface to minimize glare. No matter what game you launch, regardless of the quality settings you select, there’s almost no way to bottleneck two 980Ms with 8GB each at 1920x1080.

The Core i7-4720HQ processor isn’t Intel’s fastest mobile offering. For gaming, though, the quad-core model with Hyper-Threading and 6MB of shared L3 cache is more than ample. Under threaded loads, it runs at 2.6 GHz. Less taxing games leave thermal headroom on the table, and Turbo Boost technology exploits that to push frequencies up to 3.6GHz.

The MSI COMPUTER GT80 TITAN has been adquately reviewed by others. This review is to warn other buyers to exercise caution when purchasing from ADORAMA CAMERA and to review the warranty of MSI prior to purchasing. ADORAMA has a return policy which you will only discover when it is too late that if you open the computer box you can not return it even if defective. Rather you must send it to the manufacturer for warranty repair (good luck with that). The manufacturer may if they can't repair it replace it with a refurbished one, regardless of the fact that a refurbished computer is worth far less. At the same time, this will take so long that your warranty will have been eaten up just attempting to get the computer to work. Amazon supports this policy so filing an A-Z guarantee claim will not result in requiring ADORAMA to accept a return. If you do return it to ADORAMA they will refuse the deliver (per UPS this is their standard practice).
In an attempt to protect fellow consumers, I believe that a review of the product is not complete without a review of the warranty provisions of that item which you will need to be familiar with if you buy a defective item or if your item develops a problem during the warranty period.
