Great Features and High Quality

While I bought the bag because of good reviews and product descriptions, I still thought the price seemed high. However, after testing the bag on day one, I am happy I spent the money for this product and would definitely do so again. After over a month of constant daily use, there have been no defects, breakages, etc. All of the seams,zippers, and straps are very durable. With a full load of about 15+ pounds including the wheel platform, everything holds together and shows no sign of stress(wheeled or carried). Every aspect of this bag shows great consideration by the manufacturer. Everything claimed by this bag is true. For those with large 17" laptops, nearing the limits of the bag size: you may find that the fit at first is tight using the removable brief, however, everything does fit and is well protected (After breaking-in the leather, the fit is great). Heavy Rolling Laptop Case

The McKlein USA Chicago Detachable-Wheeled Laptop Case with all its features is a good idea, however, it's heavy and if you fill it up, may be to heavy for carrying on some airlines. You must remove the detachable wheel assembly to fit the case under the seat or in the overhead baggage compartment. It is difficult to get the removable laptop briefcase back into the main case. The clips that hold the case on the wheel assembly can come loose from both parts when removing the case, which means you need to be careful not to loose them.

On the plus side it does hold a lot of stuff and if you're not flying is easy to pull. The wheels are quiet and smooth rolling. The pullout laptop case is useful as a stand alone case for a meeting. The case is well made and looks good.

Having used the case I probably would not buy it again to travel with.

Best Price ... Highest Quality

We had purchased a more expensive Bag but were not happy with the quality. We did not get a chance to look at the bag before her party. I just wrapped the box. It was so nice to buy something for her that she loved but all the guest could not stop complimenting and touching the bag. In front of 15 people we unzipped every zipper and opened every compartment. With hand reaching over touching the fine leather and beautiful lining.

This bag far exceeded our expectations. We bought it as a gift for our daughter when she passed her BAR exam. She absolutely loved it. The quality is exceptional. I have never seen zippers that were as well made. The gift wills last a lifetime. She takes it to work with everything she needs for the day. When she gets to the office she pulls out her work shoes and her lunch. She grabs the Beautiful Leather Brief case and any files she may need for her first session. Locks her handbag in the Bag & she is off. She uses it everyday. She is very smart but sometimes can be forgetful about little things. This Bag has her ready for work each day with everything she needs.

Thank You for also being 40% less than other sites.

Amazing quality bag for the price

I have had this bag for about 2 months now and really like it. The build quality is outstanding. One can see that a lot of thought went into design and engineering of bag. The pull out document folder is really nice. I actually use it for my laptop and the rest of the bag for the other stuff I need.

I will point out that it is a BIG bag both in size and weight. I recently took it on a trip on a small jet and it will not fit in the overhead compartment with the wheels in place. However, the wheel section removed quickly and easily and fit under the seat until I arrived at my destination. Next trip I may leave the wheels at home. Another plus was that the clothing compartment kept my shirts neat and pressed and ready to wear.

Almost Perfect

I have had this bag for several years now. I travel for work and I use my luggage sometime to the point of abuse. This bag as taken every bit of it and is still going strong. I would have gladly given it five stars, except very early on in my use of it, the black vinyl on the handle and on the front of the bag started coming loose from the cloth backing. The strength is is the cloth, so the bag is still totally functional. But the appearance, with a good bit of the faux-leather vinyl missing, is very unfortunate. It looks like it has been through hell. It has. If it were available in all leather, it would be an exceptional piece of luggage with a unique and very usefully designed removable wheels.

Bag is excellent but.........

I travel extensively. This fits in most aircraft overhead bins, however I sometimes have to disconnect the bag from the cart. I have already broken the tabs off some of the plastic clips supplied with the bag to fasten the bag to the cart. I called McKlein to ask for more and I was told 4 would be sent to me - that was over a week ago and still waiting. Also after these four I would have to pay for them. I thought this was under warranty as I only purchased it two months ago.Quality of the bag is great but very disappointed in the system as a whole. I will not be buying this again and am disappointed after having come from a Wenger that lasted for years until the handle broke.

Ok case. Did not fit my oversize laptop.

The build quality of the case is ok. I do not know how it will hold up because I returned it. I really like the detachable wheels/handle assembly. That is what attracted me to the case in the first place...well, that and the ability to fit a 17" laptop. The front compartment is nice and roomy. The middle compartment is described as the document compartment, but that is where the protective foam resides. I would not put electronics in the rear compartment because there is little protection. Also, the case does not hold as much as you would expect for a case this large and heavy. I think that it is partly due to an inefficient design, and partly because it is made of leather (I expect leather cases to be heavy) and it does have nice cushion in the center compartment. On a positive note, the detachable laptop briefcase is great for documents or a 15" laptop. I would feel very secure if I had a 15" laptop in the detachable briefcase and stored in the center compartment.

The laptop compartment (they call it the document compartment) cannot fit a 17" laptop unless you take out the protective foam ring. Even then, it will be very tight because the corners are so rounded. My laptop, a Dell M6600, did not fit because it is thick and has a 17.3" screen, though the dimensions are at the outer limit of the specs cited in the description. Also, the M6600 has square corners.

I think this case is ideal for someone who travels often with a 15" laptop, and needs this case to do double-duty as a roller and as an impressive looking briefcase (without the wheel/handle assembly). The briefcase insert makes for a great looking and functional laptop sleeve for a 15" laptop. It has room for an AC adapter and several accessories as well as a couple pads of paper.

If you are looking for a true 17" laptop case, I think you should look elsewhere.
