Great utility - terrible quality construction!

I loved everything about this bag, for about 2 weeks. Then the material started to fray from the edge binding, any area that I used to capacity. First, was the water bottle holder. I only used a small bottle. Then I noticed the fraying, so I stopped using that pouch. A few weeks later, the fraying began on the main back panel around the corners; and from there it just got worse, so I returned it to the store. Too bad, I loved the front pouch - perfect for MP3 player. This is a well designed, bag except for the quality of the construction.

Does Not Accomodate HP 17" dv7t series Laptops

I ordered this attractive laptop messenger bag intending to use it to port around my new HP dv7t 17" wide-screen laptop. Unfortunately I read the wrong dimensions - the entire bag dimensions instead of the inner compartment dimensions which are listed separately. The inner compartment dimensions of this bag are: 15.5"(w) x 10"(d) x 1.75"(h). This falls considerably short of the dimensions of the dv7t laptop: 16.35"(w) x 10.8"(d) x 1.25"(h). So despite claiming that the bag fits most 17" laptops I had to return this bag.

In the short time I had this bag though I was impressed by the materials used to construct it. It feels very well made and despite my not being able to keep the bag I was confident that this messenger bag was up to the task of everyday use. The handle, strap and zippers felt sturdy and well attached. The inner cushioning is substantial and I felt that my laptop would survive bumps and drops inside this bag.

Looks wise what attracted me most to this bag was that it doesn't look too professional or too much like a grungy student laptop bag. The styling is nicely in-between and I would feel appropriate carting this bag into my workplace in a suit or in more casual environments.

One of my favorite features of this bag is the orange lining. The entire inner compartment of this bag is lined in orange making finding cords, jump drives, pens or anything else a cinch. For anyone who's owned a black-on-black laptop bag and struggled to find dark colored peripherals inside their bag this will be a nice feature.

I'm a bit disappointed that I won't be able to use this bag but otherwise would recommend it to anyone with a compatible laptop.

Nice bag.

I ordered this bag because of a co-worker's positive remarks. This is one of the few options available for a 17" laptop. Travel out of the country made this bag extremely useful. Easy to carry, lots of compartments to store cables, external hard drives, and cd's. Places for business cards, personal cards and supplies, as well as travel documents. I would recommend this bag.

Deceptive bait and switch

Amazon images of this product are misleading. The shoulder strap attachment system depicted in the image are much more sturdy and well made in the image than in the shipped item.

I am amazed at the obvious deception on the product. A primary reason that I considered this item was the fact that the strap attachment would be secure, but the actual strap is a cheap, flimsy insecure clip. There is no way I would consider carrying a computer in this case while riding my bike, which had been my plan.

Looks Good - Bad Quality

I bought this bag a little over a year ago. Below is my assessment of the bag:

Pros:
* Looks good with the orange interior

Cons:
* After a couple of weeks of owning the back zipper broke
* The zipper handles are not very durable and eventually snap off
* If you put a laptop in the bag, and anything in the front pockets then the bag will not stand upright but will fall over on its front
* Having a charge cord and laptop in the bag makes the bag seem bulky due to the lack of room
* The clips that connect the shoulder strap to the bag have fairly weak plastic and break easily (if you already have this bag I would suggest reinforcing it with hockey tap;) )
* The back pocket only holds paper if you want it to feel right when carrying it

Recommendation:
If you plan on using the bag once a month, this is the bag for you. If you need a dependable bag that both feels right when lugging it around and has sufficient space then this is not the bag for you. If you are thinking about saving a couple of dollars on a bag, still, don't spend it on this bag.

A little Pricy but it's worth it !!

This laptop bag is all you need. Has plenty of compartments to put all your gadgets, including your cell phone/iPod to listen to music while you are on the go (A simple thing but it's very practical). The laptop compartment is adjustable to various sizes and has extra cushion to add protection against bumps. Also the shoulder strap is very comfortable, so you can bare it even tough you have some extra weight due to the many things you can fit into the bag.

Even tough I would definitely recommend this bag, there are some cons you need to know, for example there's not an specific compartment for the laptop charger cord/adapter making it a little lumpy on the front when you get it inside one of the interior pockets. The elastic that uses a Velcro closure to assure the laptop in it's position inside the pocket is longer than needing so the computer is kind of loose inside (On the top side) and not as tight as you would want (This particular characteristic came with the bag I purchased, not necessarily will happen to you). And the last thing I found as a con is that the back side of the bag (Which you don't see in any of the pictures) is not completely covered with the soft/nice looking material (Looks like synthetic leather) that has on the front facing and pockets. Hope this helps you make a better decision.
