Bright Light - Many Different Uses

The Mudder USB LED Light Lamp is very easy to use. You simply plug it into the USB port on your computer and voila - you have a very bright light with an app. 10" long, very flexible arm. I'm not positive about what the lumen output is for the 13-LED sample I received, but it is extremely bright - especially in the dark. The heat output of the light was very minimal due to the LED nature of the light. Although my laptop's keyboard is backlit and thus I would not need this very often, I can see the utility of this light for many different uses. This could also be used as a nice area light by simply plugging in your USB recharging plug into the wall and the plugging the Mudder USB LED Light into the top. The only thing I wish it had was a switch, but this is kind of a minor nit-noid complaint. Overall I thought this was a good product and saw no issues with it.

A nice problem solver for our office work area!

This is a cool gadget I wish I would have found a long time ago! Our computers are tucked away nicely in a corner of our living space, and while this works very well in our home, I continue to have a problem with lighting in that corner. I can't seem to figure out a way to install a light to provide light over both computers. Most of the time we end up casting a shadow on our own paperwork and keyboards.
This light works perfectly to help with that problem. If I need it, I just plug it into the USB slot and position it wherever I need light. Flip a switch and pow - very bright light!
The long flexible wire allows it to be used easily over your keyboard or over your paperwork or desktop. I am impressed with how bright it is.
I received a sample of this item for review purposes and I'm very pleased with it so far. It is a nice problem solver for our home.

Very Useful and Did What It's Supposed To Do

I found this item to be very useful for those individuals who need just a little more light for either reading or close up work when a smaller more focused source of light was needed. Yes, you need an accessible USB port in order to use it, but that's what it is intended to be used with. I found it to be fully functional in every USB port that I tried and didn't have any problems with it in that respect. Yes, it does put out some heat, but very little due to its size and number of the LED lights being used.

I found this to be especially useful in fine detailed work such as working on circuit boards or other similar task where fine motor skills and delicate work are required.

I received this item free in order to try it out and then post a review of it, which you have just read.

As cheap as it looks.

I'm giving this two stars instead of one because I wasn't using it for its intended purpose. This is a book light or laptop light and probably wasn't meant to be on for long periods of time. I used it as an LED light for a small fish tank so it was on constantly for about 8 hours every day. After the third day, I noticed one of the LEDs was burned out. Day four and 2 more had burned out. I stopped using it after that. I'll scrap it for parts.

Useful LED Lamp Powered by USB Port

I've been using this for several weeks now and its quite useful. The LEDs are bright but give off minimal heat. It plugs into one of the USB ports of my laptop. I have in fact tried it in all of the USB ports just to see if this makes a difference. It provides a bright light for looking at small objects and print, important as age makes it a bit harder to see small print without good lighting. I don't need it to see the keyboard so I often twist the goose neck around so I can clearly see the copy that I am typing into the computer. I transcribe some old newsprint items so it's important to be able to see yellowing newsprint clearly. I have found this to be a very useful lamp with low power consumption.

It's also handy to be able to fold the flexible neck up and tuck it into a pocket or a computer case for transport.

Was given a free sample to test. I will of course update if something happens to change my opinion.

it's as bright as you'd want it, it has an off switch, but it's as cheap as you'd expect, maybe even much cheaper. The head had to be taped because it actually immediately fell off of the metallic arm, which also isn't as stiff and flexible as you will need it to be. It works but... there is definitly better out there. In the hands it even feels like it should cost less.

it's a good idea that you look for something of better quality.

One bulb went out after a month of usage

Priced right, got an on/off button I'm looking for, many LEDs and bright but after a month of use, one LED went out already. That's unacceptable. It's fricken LED, it's supposed last thousands of hours. Must be made in China. I would not buy again.
