Works fine, great value for the price

I bought one of these to use for skype calls. I have it attached to the end of a 3ft headphone cable, so it's not attached directly to the computer, and it does a nice job of picking up my voice from several feet away. According to people on the other end of the call, audio quality is on par with cell phone audio. Some say it's a little better, some say it's a little worse, but either way they can hear me and the mike works fine.

I want to start by saying that I love this microphone. For what I use it for, motovlogging, it works absolute wonders and the sound quality is actually very good. It cuts wind noise while still picking up clear vocals and the engine noise from my bike, which is exactly how it should be.

I'm glad they come in pairs because after one month I'm one microphone down as the sensor separated from the flex arm, exposing two wires while I was riding (hey?! what's that burning smell?)

HQ Voice recording

I bought it for voice calls and it records better that I expected! I have been using it for a month and there haven't been any problems at all. Both microphones work well. They are not as flexible as I thought, but it might be a good thing. There is no chord between the plug and the microphone itself, so it may last a good amount of time. Very good price for better than decent quality microphones.

Good for my laptop

Seems to work fine on my laptop. Sometimes I need to lean closer to it when talking but that could be because I'm a soft speaker. My friends have reported that they hear me just fine on Skype. It definitely beats the built-in mic on my laptop.

Simple Product, Simple Install

Chances are that you have an inexpensive set of headphones with a 3.5mm connector. You buy this little mic, plug both into your laptop, open up your Skype account.and connect. I'm happy and my bank account hardly felt it.

There is no need for a high-end headset unless you want a wireless setup. After all, vocal audio works just fine within 100Hz to 3000Hz, so why do you need a mic that has a flat, highly directional pickup pattern from 25Hz to 20,000Hz? The kids/grandkids break the expensive gear just as easily as the $5 gear. Paying more is snob appeal, much like buying high priced wine instead of Carlo Rossi to impress someone you don't like using money you don't have.

Pretty decent range and clarity for such a low price. I normally wouldn't give it 5 stars, but since it cost so little, it is definitely worth the 5 star rating. Great for Skype type chatting, etc. If you need one on the cheap, this is the way to go.

You need a microphone for Windows 10

Unless you already have a microphone with your computer, and upgrade to Windows 10, you will need a microphone to use the Cortana feature on 10. Cortana is a voice service for 10, like Seri or Google search. You will need to go into the Cortana program and turn on the voice feature.
Our laptop and desktop computers had microphone jacks on the front/side, and this short mic was perfect.
I have not tested the quality of mic, therefore the 4 stars.
