LapSaver Cooling Pad

My Laptop was running hot and thought I could use a cooling pad to help keep cool it down while using my MacBook Pro. The first time I use the cooling pad it seemed to keep the base of my computer cool. The second time I used the cooling pad, my laptop shut itself down and wouldn't boot up until it completely cool down. I realized it was the Cooling pad it was helping with some of the cooling process but it didn't allow the base (bottom) of my computer to breath. So basically my laptop over heated and shut down as a precautionary.

Light weight and absorbs the heat

I bought this for my MacBook Pro because the computer got so hot that it was uncomfortable to keep on my lap. The pad is light weight and I carry the pad and my Mac together as one unit. I have noticed that it has gotten so hot that when it cools back down, the gel gets a little "crunchy." However, when it is being used and starts absorbing a lot of heat, it gets soft and pliable again, so I take it that it's doing its job. We recently bought my husband an HP Pavilion and my husband was alarmed that the computer was so hot. I lent him my cooling pad and don't expect that I'll be receiving it back. I'm going online to buy myself a new one.

Not bad, Not superb

It helps, I can definitely notice a difference. but it's not as a big of a difference as I was looking for, but it will definitely do in the mean time. I got it because I like to play World of Warcraft and Sims 3 on my macbook pro and it tends to get a bit hot at times when I'm playing those. If i remember to put it under right as I start playing it works much better than putting it under when it starts to feel hot. Dunno why, but it does. So if you're looking for just a little something, this is for you, if you're looking for something a little bit more heavy duty you may consider holding onto your dollars and continuing your search. Overall I'm content with it.

I thought the "neoprene sleeve" was part of the cooling pad, so I bought this thinking it was a pad that doubles as a sleeve. However, it's just a pad with some crystals that melts when it absorbs heat, distributing heat away from the macbook. The pad is thin enough so that I could carry both the laptop with the pad in the same Herschel sleeve, so this makes for a great portable cooling pad if you don't want to lug around a cooling fan type.

i really like this product, i use my laptop for hours, and this great cooler really helps...
the only thing i'm disappointed by the product details offered on this particuar listing.... i was hoping to get the lapsaver with the neoprene sleeve, and sadly cant even return the product as i had it delvered to a friend who brought it to me in france..
