Short-Term Backup

This adapter fits my old Thinkpad r51 and appears to work normally. After two months the DC wires' outer casing was beginning to rip away from the adapter housing right outside the joint reinforcement, though the wires' insulation was still intact.

This might work for a short-term replacement, but I'd recommend using the official replacement to be on the safe side. (My very old computer broke shortly after purchasing this item, but the repairman thinks this is a coincidence.)

Excellent Replacement

Not compatible with IBM R51 Laptop

The ending jack does not fit into my laptop at all. The item description clearly states that it is compatible with my laptop model and its not. My laptop is an IBM R51 Attached is 2 pictures showing the IBM original jack (yellow) and the one I was sent (on the right)

If It Sounds Too Good To Be True.....

Time can sometimes be more valuable than money. I was blinded by the low price on these power supplies. The unit I received had a transformer far smaller than my original despite the seller's description having exactly the correct specs. Nothing changes the laws of physics. It could not have been delivering the right amperage at that size. The DC end plug almost fit my laptop, and -- running very hot -- the unit did power my laptop for about 3 hours before burning out in the field. I was unable to use my computer for the bulk of a day's work. The low cost of the unit does not warrant any more of my time asking for a replacement or refund. I'm just glad I never left the unit alone and charging overnight. It produced that much heat. My original wore out from travel. My transformer is fine and can quickly be rewired as a work-around. If you have lost yours and must buy one new, bite the bullet and buy a proper replacement even if it costs five or six times this unit. Match the transformer size in inches as well as amperage for safety. Another example of "It sounded too good to be true."

Great AC Adpater for an older machine

this is a great AC Adapter for the Thinkpad T-22. I lost my OEM one and needed a replacement for it. I already have a newer Laptop but wanted to reassign the T-22 to be a Ubuntu Machine. This Adapter was a perfect fit, of course its aftermarket but it resembles the OEM and for the cost is of pretty good quality. Cant beat it for under $10!

Not a satisfied customer

I received the adapter defective and sent it back. I received a new one and still have the same problem. The battery I have and the new one I purchased do not charge. The adapter does not supply enough power to the battery to charge. I am stuck at one location as if I am using a desktop. If I unplug the adapter my computer shuts completely off. There is no point returning the item, AGAIN, since shipping is over $8 and they only refund $5. Not worth it and not satisfied. You get what you pay for!

I bought this item a few months ago and it worked straight out of the package. Made sure that it was plugged and unplugged correctly. Next thing you know I'm having problems with the battery and then the computer. The end that plugs into the computer has a bad connection. That's after a $50.00 repair charge. Thanks for the additional pressure. My research for my finals paper was stuck on my computer, the delay caused me to get a B- instead of the A I would have got with a my old research.
