RF hazard

Seemed to be working fine at first. The DC power line to the laptop is about 18"-24" shorter than the original. Besides that issue, the caution on the transformer says it all, "(1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation." Do not use near a widescreen. The RF (electromagnetic radiation) also disrupts reception of radio. One very important thing I should have looked for at the start was the UL seal of approval; there is none which means this item was never tested or presents a hazard to health or home. Spend the extra money and by an approved unit. What a cleverly hidden lemon. Caveat Emptor.

ONLY WORKED FOR THREE WEEKS

My charger was still working, but had gotten caught in the zipper of my laptop carrying bag and wires were visible. I replaced my old charger with this one and it worked for maybe three weeks. My computer was slower, indicating that the battery probably never worked correctly. Basically this cheap piece of crap worked long enough so that the return by window passed. Now, even when I tried to switch parts of the cords out with working parts, I still couldn't get the computer to charge. Bypass this product and this company--what they make is clearly inferior.

and that means the charger does too because the Hp G62 doesn't have the greatest battery life

My charger lasted almost 5 years, and that is not to say that I was careful with it. My laptop goes everywhere with me, and that means the charger does too because the Hp G62 doesn't have the greatest battery life. Mine became completely frayed, bent out of shape and the wires were not even fully connected there at the end, but it still worked. What HP products often lack in capacity, they sure make up for in durability!

Charged up over charger

My daughter's puppy chewed up my charger wire while it was plugged in. Really! Universal chargers at chain stores, with multiple PC applications, cost up to $40 more. I went to Amazon and got an exact replacement. All is well with my new charger, and my daughter's puppy.
