All of the parts are very high quality and feel as if they could support much more than what I am asking of them. The monitor can be turned to 90 degrees if you prefer portrait orientation. There are two cable management hooks on each arm to help keep things looking tidy. I also added some split loom tubing and velcro because I have a bit of OCD. I have absolutely no complaints about this mount and am sure it will be with me for the rest of my days.

I have this stand holding my 17" laptop (HP DV7-4170) and 22" monitor (HP w2207h). I did have to use the included velcro on the bottom of my laptop to keep it in place since I like the tray to be tilted at a pretty steep angle. The lip on the front of the tray isn't that high and my laptop sort of tapers up, but if you wanted to just leave the tray flat it wouldn't be an issue.

Girlfriend wasn't happy that my setup is now better than hers, so we had to order one more stand. Hers holds a 15" MacBook Pro (non-Retina Display model) and a 20" monitor (HP w2007). The MacBook feels a little more secure in the tray, we also installed the included rubber feet to make sure nothing slides.

I was initially a little worried that my my large and heavy and dusty (see pic) 17" laptop (ASUS G74) and my fairly large 27" monitor (ASUS VE278q) would be too much for this mount to handle. I should not have been worried.

This monitor mount was very easy to set up and came with all the tools needed minus a phillips head screwdriver. The arms are already put together and you just need to slide them onto the mount pole and tighten them. When I first mounted my screen the weight of it would pull the adjustable hinge down but after I tightened the crap out of the bolt there it holds nicely.

The second worry that I had was that with the large screen my laptop and monitor would overlap. Wrong again. There is plenty of room and with the range of motion with the arms I can either have them side by side or pull the larger screen forward to play games or watch movies. You can also rotate the monitor mount on the fly for either landscape or portrait.

The mounts also include small cable clips which help with wire management. One of these clips broke right away (my fault) but they provide extra in the small bag of screws and such.

All in all this is a very versatile and sturdy mount. With my laptop and monitor attached I pulled on the arms and pushed at the pole pretty forcefully and they didn't budge at all.

Buy this.

I have had it installed for a couple of days. It is rock solid as has been noted in numerous reviews. I currently have only a 15" MacBook Pro on the laptop tray, the other arm is not installed yet as I am in process of purchasing the monitor for it. I have no doubts that this will hold the monitor easily in addition to the laptop. I will add on to the review once that is installed. The lip that holds the laptop on the tray at a downward angle is about 7/8" which is way more than needed for my laptop; I actually have a portable USB drive sitting on top of the laptop and up against the lip, and it's holding both. I will probably end up attaching this to the bottom of the tray with velcro, but just mentioning to provide a feel for this. I haven't worried about the security of the laptop at all.

Very well made and worth the price as compared to other similar devices I have looked at. Also, instructions were complete and easy to follow. I have a desk with a nice finish so I was leery of clamping this down hard on the desk - metal on wood. I used a cardboard cutout in the same shape as the top plate (elongated semicircle) to keep that part from touching the desk directly. On the bottom with the two screw clamps, I was looking for a small flat piece of plywood to put between the clamps and the desk surface; I noticed that a small mousetrap was about the right size, so I pulled all the metal off the mousetrap and it was just about perfect for this purpose. No damage to the desk surface and it is just perfectly fixed. I am sure it could hold a lot more weight.

The box arrived on time in good shape and weighed twice what i expected. This mount is made of serious 1/4 steel plate. It is well designed and well built. It was easy to install and works great. I believe it will last a long time. I bolted mine to the desk rather than clamp it but the clamps seemed well made and sturdy also.

This stand is great! Absolutely great.

The monitor stand fits a lot of types or monitors, as does the stand for the laptop.
It takes some wiggeling, but once set up completely the transition from laptop to monitor is seamless.

Overall it feels very sturdy and simply looks fantastic.

I was super excited to get this item based on the reviews. Until I received it.

The "tray" the laptop sits on has an angled front, the chrome "stop" you see sits about an inch out and only about 1/4 of an inch higher than the front of the tray. I guess that would work to keep your computer in place if the front of your laptop is completely flat, none of mine are. The laptop slides right off the second it's not exactly at a flat angle. I guess using the Velcro would work but I really don't want to be attaching anything to my computer.

It's going back, my hunt continues. :-(
