This is a very solid,durable battery.

This is a very solid battery and I was very impressed with the quality of this battery. It was very easy to install and I had not issues with that. One of the best features of this battery is it has overcharge protection. The battery lasts about 7 hours and its very lightweight and doesn't add much bulk to my laptop. Its nice that I can just take my laptop with me to school, since it has such a great battery life and I don't have to bring all the cords and such. This battery is made of 100% Grade A cell, instead of low grade or recycled cells. I received this at a discount in exchange for my honest/unbiased review.

Comes with all of the tools to install

So far so good, it didn't come with a full charge but the battery lasted for a few hours (about how long the original battery lasted when it was new). It also comes with all of the tools to install it which is a nice feature.

Escape the wall outlet

I'm the technician among my friends, and when I saw the opportunity to help one of my friends out by replacing his laptop battery, I went for it. This battery comes with both of the screwdrivers needed to perform the repair, which is really nice. They came in handy as I had previously broken the screwdriver bit I needed. It coming with the T1 required for the job is especially nice since most driver-sets won't include this.

This particular battery isn't difficult to replace, just make sure to fully turn the computer off and remove the battery connector as soon as you get the laptop open. There are 3 screws along the top edge of the OEM battery: the leftmost is covered by a pesky sticker. As long as you have your laptop open, I suggest using canned air to dust out the fans and heat sync: this will make your laptop run a lot cooler if it has much dust at all (and it will, haha).

As far as the battery performance goes, it has rejuvenated his battery life quite well. Before the replacement, his OEM battery was only lasting a few hours with light web browsing... bleck. Afterward, his battery life is more in line with what it was new. It now has over 4 hours of heavy web browsing with lots of YouTube. That's a huge improvement considering he wasn't using youtube to test the old battery! He's now getting 5 to 6 hours of medium internet use out of this battery.

This battery works well, and I would recommend it to friends who are looking for a refresh in battery life.

IMPORTANT! - Follow the instructions in the manual for calibrating the battery. Li-Ion batteries store a Voltage-Energy table and this takes charging it past when it states that it is full, and then fully discharging it.Read more ›

Which brand is the best? Sony

Four batteries arrived at the same time from Amazon, this is the last battery I tested.

I can't find another macbook 15'' to replace the battery even I have tons old laptops, so I decided to open the case.

Confirmed: the Ombar battery is using Sony battery . Which brand is the best? Sony, Sanyo, Samsung, Panasonic, LG and "unknown" brands from Taiwan or China.

Is it battery used? Checked the soldering area, no mark shows used so far.

------------- Blow is not the review for this battery, copied from other review. I got four batteries from Ombar, 3 of them meet my expectation-----

The battery was inside a sealed anti-static bag, well protected by two cushions. Looks like brand new, no scratches, but the package box looks cheap.

The installation is very easy, less than 5 mins if you know how. Comes with two Philip screwdrivers but I didn't use them at all. I have my Wiha screwdrivers. Also you need a "Y" screwdrivers which is not included.

The battery fits the laptop very well, closed the lid and turned on the Unibody laptop immediately without any problems. Checked the status, holding 76% battery and 2 cycles. It's a brand new battery obviously.

Reset the SMC, charged to full status. .

Writing this review by using this battery, will update the review again when something happens. For those OEM batteries, holding a charge after 3 month is the challenge. So far I am happy with this battery even I bought those batteries at discount.

Solid battery

It was getting to be time to replace my original battery, that wasn't lasting very long after 6 years. I just finished installing and calibrating this on my Mid 2009 Macbook Pro 15" (which the A1321 is compatible with, according to ifixit - CHECK YOUR MODEL NUMBERS BEFORE BUYING A BATTERY), and so far, it seems to be working well. It's showing full charge capacity of 6087 mAh, and currently my expected battery life under light load is about 5.5-6 hours, which is definitely not what I'm used to.
The installation process was fairly easy. Included in the package are two screwdrivers - one that worked to remove the outer screws on my laptop, and one tri-wing (which seems to be a standard on several years' worth of macbooks). Note that the screws on my battery were the pentalobe variety, and neither of the two included screwdrivers worked on it. (I wasn't actually expecting to get screwdrivers anyway, so I don't hold it against the company). However, the eyeglass screwdriver that I used to use to open up the outer screws (Bausch & Lomb Eyeglass Care Kit) was able to fit them.

Note that the two outer pentalobe screws did not seem to fit after installing this battery. However, it seems that the middle one alone provided enough security, because I couldn't move the battery at all after that one was in. That doesn't really bother me, but it's worth mentioning. Ultimately, I am very satisfied with this battery. I will update in the future if I have any problems.
