It is what it is...

This is a basic stand made of steel brackets screwed together. The lowest height available is pretty high. And it is a little bit wobbly. Not bad, but it is much less sturdy than something you might get from Dell for their business lines.

But, the sturdier stands you might get are also well over $100. So if you just want to raise the laptop up, and it doesn't matter that it can flex left and right, then this is a fine solution. It seems priced a bit high for what it is (except when it inexplicably drops to $20 once in a while). But you won't be able to build anything better for less.

Great stand for the money

This stand is just a little bit wobbly and not great if you are on the road a lot since it doesn't collapse but overall it is a great buy for the price. I've used it both at home and in the club and had no problems at all. You can also adjust the height which is nice.

Solid Stand

I bought it thinking I would use it for DJing, which I have done over a dozen times in the last year alone. It's not my job, but I love doing it. Since I got it, it holds my PC on my desk in my dorm. In this application, I have a separate keyboard for typing and obviously a better mouse too.

It's a sturdy design, but if you're going to be putting on a show physically, as a good DJ should, you probably want clamps to go with it.

If you want it as a lift kit for a laptop and work on a more desktop-like setup, get it.

I only have one complaint, but it's not big enough to take off a star. Where the arms fold up (so as to stop the PC from sliding off) there should be two felt pads. Mine only came with one, but I can deal with that and rig another one on.

If you need it, get it.

If you will use it, get it.

Excellent Stand

I ordered this stand for my GIANT laptop (Asus 16.5", giant in my book) and set it up on my desk. Works wonders! I get what people are saying, the stand itself could be wobbly if placed on an uneven surface, but on a flat desk, it works great! Plus it has very thin legs so that books and papers can be placed directly underneath it... So it's like I just added a bunch of space to my desk, but my computer's still there.

I have to use my laptop a ton for school, being in an engineering major we use only computer software to do our projects, and I used to wake up every day with neck pains. Within 2 days of getting this laptop stand, my neck pain was gone! And hasn't returned since. Now THAT is awesome.

very nice stand

i am a software engineer, so i am on my computer at least 10 hours a day. i was finding that i started getting neck cramps looking down at my computer so I started looking for some kind of elevated stand. This inexpensive stand has a simple design and is very sturdy. it works extremely well and I like It a lot. I have been using this stand for almost a year without any major problems. The only problem I encountered was a threaded screw, but the problem was fixed in a few minutes with a little bit of glue and some clear tape.

Great stand

I got this stand about a year ago and it's still going strong. At times it tends to loose it's tightness ever so slightly but it's not that big of a deal, it can easily be re-tightened and adjusted. This stand has actually held up pretty sturdy. After one show/party that I played at my little brother fell on the stand bending and crippling it in which I thought it was ruined. I took some pliers and re-bent it out and straightened it out and it still works like a charm. I would recommend.

I bought this last week and upon un-boxing it is so beautiful! Now the regular plain black ones that were made way back when laptop stands first came out are more sturdy but these are nice! Very easy to use as far as height adjustment etc. This does get pretty high up too just like Stanton's Uberstand but does not sit strait facing up kinda tilts forward. I think overall you will be happy and you cant beat the price from an amazing company (Oddysey). You will be happy with this item.

I ordered this stand to elevate my computer at DJ gigs but I am using it all the time at home too. The instructions were a bit confusing as it was just a diagram and showed parts that didn't come in the package but once I got it put together it has been perfect! It's very sturdy, holds my computer safely, doesn't tip over easily, and looks good! It also frees up the space on the table. I can use it on my bed even. This stand is exactly what I was looking for! Love it.
