Keeps my computer cool and helps me type

As most reviews have stated, this product simply works. If your computer has a bottom vent (like mine) then this type of product is essential for cooling down your computer. Immediately I noticed a difference in temperature when using this product. Additionally, the height it adds is great for ergonomic typing. Depending on hard far back you adjust the back prongs you can get a solid inch or two of extra support. Typing this review right now with this below my computer makes typing a lot easier. I would have bought this product simply for the height.

The product has adjustable legs that you can unscrew for length. There are numbers indicating where each position you would want to secure it in so it is easy to remember in case you forget or want to adjust for another computer. It also has two circular rings around the middle of the back legs that you can tighten so they won't move. They tighten very securely but don't take too much pressure to undo if you need to readjust.

These adjustable legs were great as they allowed me to place these out of reach of the nubs that were attached to my laptop. The front grips also stick up high enough that if your laptop curves in (like mine does) it will still grip. You won't need to worry about your laptop sliding off.

This product should work for most laptop widths. I am typing on a 16 inch laptop and I could see this easily working for larger or smaller laptops.

What makes this impossible to beat, however, is the portability. I recently traveled with my laptop and wanted to bring this home. The whole thing folds around into a nice 6 inch by 1 inch tubular design that was easily thrown into my backpack. It retained the settings I had and unfolded in a matter of seconds.

Overall, for the ergonomic support, cooling abilities and portability, this product is hard to beat. I highly recommend to anyone looking to cool down their computer, or just for someone who likes to type ergonomically.

Identical to the Targus, but a lot cheaper

Does what it says, if that's what you're looking for. I think the design is good, allowing for a stable platform and enhanced cooling due to the slanted positioning of the laptop. This stand is identical to the Targus-branded one of the same design, except it is less than half the price. Supports the laptop and folds up to a compact form that is easy to take with you.

A simple solution for tabletop based laptop airflow

I own 4 of these little things...and I could not be happier. Sturdy and inexpensive, they do exactly what I need them to do...position my laptop so there is more airflow to the fans beneath. The caveat here is that your laptop needs to be tabletop based and not on your lap. If you need more than that, there are other, more expensive solutions. Since my laptop is really a desktop replacement, it's been a great solution to help keep my laptop running cooler.

Excellent product!

great quality and sturdy product. it hikes up my computer to just the right height and keeps it from over heating. I LOVE that it can fold up neatly and fit right into my computer bag. can take everywhere with me! I also like that where the arms touch the table have little plastic caps so that it sits on the table without scratching, sits where you want it to without moving, but if you do want to move it on top of a table top, it glides well.

There is a design defect however. when you open it up and place your computer on it, if you move the computer around at all (which we do all the time) it doesn't lock into position and will close up and your computer will tilt in awkward positions. Then, you have to lift your computer, adjust the stand (open it back up again).

I wish it had a lock feature once you've open it up so that this doesn't happen.
