DV6000 Battery Replacement

I thought my HP DV6000 laptop was dead. It wouldn't hold a charge at all, and the power adapter would not stay situated. Any slight movement it would lose contact and without any battery charge remaining, it would instantly shut off my computer. I had the power port on the laptop replaced. 118.00 later, I was on my home with my "fixed" laptop. I plugged it all in at home, still not charging my battery and still a loose connection. I read a few reviews online that said that my problem could be my battery (understandable after a few years, I just didn't think so initially because it just died out of the blue instead of slowing dying over time like all my other laptop batteries). I got a good deal from laptopmate and ordered a new battery and new power adapter (it had good reviews for being a better fit in the power port). Plus i was willing to risk 50 bucks to avoid paying 1k for a new laptop when everything else on this one works fine and does everything I need it to. A week later (free super saver shipping) I had my new battery and power adapter in hand. I plugged everything in, first noticing that the adapter fit very snug (much better than the original that came with the computer) and logged into Windows. After a couple minutes to get everything to load and let it settle in and figure out battery levels, it said I had 3/4 battery level, AND IT WAS CHARGING!!! My laptop is basically brand new, and I see it lasting me another couple years thanks to this new battery and power adapter!

Has given my laptop new life

I have an HP Pavillion 6700 laptop which I purchased for school in 2008. Due to daily, long-term use, the internal battery began to wear down to the point that if I unplugged my adapter for even 5 seconds, my laptop would shut down (causing a lot of lost data and serious annoyance). I was very worried that I was going to have to consider purchasing a new laptop.

I decided to try replacing my original internal battery with this battery after reading numerous positive reviews. So far (3 days of use), I am extremely happy. It arrived right on time, and when I installed it, the capacity was already at 66%! (This was a huge victory, because my original battery had been reading power of 0-1% for over a month, no matter how long it was plugged in.) It is wonderful to have a battery that can charge all the way to 100% again.

Last night, I was able to unplug my computer and use it continuously for 2.5 hours without the battery running below 28% (starting out from 100%). I am hopeful that, after a few cycles, I will get even more untethered time from the battery, but the difference between my old battery and this new battery is already enormous.

I use my laptop to death, so if I notice anything over a period of usage, I'll update my review. As it stands now, I couldn't be happier!

The replaced the stock battery which dies just over a year of use. This replacement is a perfect fit. After cycling a couple times it lasts as long as the (when new) stock battery.
Will come back when looking for other batteries.

Arrived promptly, packed well and fits perfectly in my laptop! With all of the recalls on HP batteries, I kept waiting for the old one to be on the recall list. This Anker battery was a reasonably priced alternative to always having my computer plugged in!!!
