Disappointing but not Surprising

I always wait a few months before I write a review, specially about batteries. I also always say that batteries are like water melon, you will be lucky if it is sweet, and you can't know until you open it. This battery is lemon, not melon. This is my third battery for my HP dm4 lap, and all three were lemon. I ordered it in February. It came on time but packaging was less than acceptable and it was chipped, luckily just a small corner was broken and the piece was still in the envelope.
I followed the instructions before the first use, and It worked fine at the beginning and for the first two months, giving me little more than two hours between charges. Then it started deteriorating, although I made sure to use it until discharging completely before i recharge again. At this time it is giving me an hour of service. I have to live with this performance until I get back home to order another one and try another melon.

Final update. By end of June, this battery was dead completely. That means this battery lived only for a little over 4 months, half of which was at half of the promised power. Needless to say that my lap was on cord power ever since until I returned home.
Upon my return 10 days ago I ordered an Anker battery . So far it is great and better than expected. Please read my review under Anker® High Performance 5200mAh/58Wh Laptop Battery

First things first, it's a twenty dollar battery. You're not supposed to be expecting the best of the best. For what I needed it to do (hold a charge so I wouldn't have to keep sitting right next to the outlet at all times), it has done well. Over the past weeks or so, the amount of juice it holds has gone down (so like four hours at a time), but for the price, I really don't mind.

This battery works for about an hour when fully charged and less than 15 mins when its only half charged. I tried to contact the vendor the first week and did not get an email back. I very dissapointed in this purchase and i don't want to hassel with a return.

Next time I battery giant - the last replacemetn I bought from them nearly two years ago and its going strong!

I would like to rate this battery higher because Amazon did such a good job with my return. However, my computer says it has "very low capacity" and does not charge it properly. It does not last very long on a charge, and it was never able to fully click into place in the back slot of my computer. I wish I had been able to get a replacement to see whether I got a dud or chose an all-around bad product, but one was not available.

It fits better in my laptop than the battery that came with the computer. For example: the original battery was so loose that if someone set a book-bag on the table next to my running laptop, the vibration of a heavy book-bag would dislodge the batter enough to turn of my computer. I no longer have to worry about that or any other situation, because this battery fits better.

Doesn't hold charge

I ordered this actually thinking it was the actual HP product, my fault for not reading it but was open to giving it a try. I followed the instructions that was shipped with the battery. It worked for about 2 weeks. Now my computer warns me that the battery is low and just shuts off with 30% left. The price is good but the battery is not worth the money.

Didn't work out too well. We followed the instructions to the tee and yet after a few months it crapped out...it would take a charge but the charge would only last about an hour or so before needing to be recharged again.

I have a feeling we may have gotten a Lemon. Next time I'll just spend a few extra bucks and buy an actual HP brand charger.
