For the reviews that say this case is not big enough for a MacBook Pro 13 is wrong.
You have to think outside of the box. Use the thin piece of foam for the bottom. Cut out enough foam in one piece to allow the MacBook Pro 13. Using the removed foam block cut out foam pieces that are 3 cubes high and then place around everything that you want to carry including your power brick. You will have a lot of foam left over and if you need more space you still have about a 2" x 2" x 9" rectangle that can be cut away.

The great thing about this case, and any other Pelican case for that matter, is its near limitless number of applications in a broad variety of fields. Specifically, I needed this case to house a recently purchased 13-inch notebook of great value. What should strike most people when they take the case straight out of the box is its very solid, durable, and tough texture. The idea of Pelican even having to include a warranty for this product is redundant: this case is essentially indestructible. With the exception of detonating explosives from within the case, I see no way this case could be easily damaged, let alone the contents within being tossed around significantly.

I should point out that even the most protective case will be useless without some adequate planning beforehand. I can not emphasize enough how important it is to make an outline of the item to be stored in the case prior to actually removing the foam. As stated in another review, removing pieces of foam one unit at a time is not only time-consuming, but you will find yourself in a very messy situation. My slightly unorthodox technique consisted of first placing the item on top of the foam (in my case it was a notebook computer). Next, I marked the outline of it using toothpicks; for the more creative individuals, dry pasta noodle strands will make an excellent substitute, or any other way of marking the edges of whatever it is you're storing. Cutting a rough outline of it only about a quarter-inch deep should give you a rough sketch of the foam you will need to take out. The next step was particularly challenging for me. I cut out the entire cross-section for the outline I made (imagine punching a hole in a piece of dough to make a doughnut).

I found a PDF plan to turn this into a watch case. My husband is a HUGE watch freak so it worked brilliantly and it was great getting to give him this. Very sturdy, manly, heavy duty, and very easy to cut shapes out as needed for his watches. Highly recommend.

I purchased this Pelican case to store and transport handguns. There is sufficient room and padding to allow for 2 compact semi-automatics and 4 10rd magazines. The amount of flotation this case provides is more than sufficient to keep the above contents from sinking. The pick and pull foam insert allows for easy customization and this can be fine tuned with a razor blade as needed. The grip is excellent and works almost as well when it's wet than dry.

As with every Pelican case I've owned the pet peeves of the design and operation are overshadowed by the performance of the case itself. My main gripe is to un-latch and open the case still requires you to press down (with effort) on the lid. This makes normal 1-handed opening of the case almost impossible. Opening is made more difficult if the item inside the case is slightly too large and is exerting force on the two halves. If you have weak fingers or bad wrists this case latch design might require some practice or special technique to make opening both feasible and less painful. The written Pelican Lifetime Warranty says that "heat" related damage is not covered. And Pelican isn't talking about fire damage... anything above "normal" temps (what is normal?) may be grounds to possibly void the warranty. I have from time to time locked cases up in a car, storage facility, Sea/Land container, etc. and they do get extremely hot. I did manage to warp one case a few years ago but was able to fix it by getting the case back up to elevated temps and then tweaking it back into shape by hand.

Amazon's delivered price was the best I could find. The item arrived in excellent condition.

I have no idea what other people are saying about their 13" not fitting. I new the dimensions of my Macbook 15" and trusted the interior dimensions of the case that were listed and IT'S PERFECT!!! No, I can't set my power cord in the case next to the laptop, but I can definitely pull some more pick and pluck foam out and fit it underneath and still have cushioning. I bought this to use on a backpacking trip through central and south america, so I'm not concerned about fitting the power cord in the case. I just want to be able to lock my macbook up and secure it to a fixed object while i go and surf all day and I could not be happier!

The case is also smaller than I imagined it would be. I think that the pictures you find online give it the appearance of being bigger to give you the impression that you're getting a better deal. But what I was looking for was something that was only 2-3 inches bigger than my macbook 15" on all sides and I got exactly what I was looking for!

Only slightly irritated that mine did not come with the shoulder strap shown in the picture. You need to fix that.

Other than that, super happy!!!
