"Installation", usage really as there is no installation needed is about as easy as you can get. With no software required and only the most minimal of adjustments to the output device you may need to change it is truly a quick and simple solution.

Plug in each of the 3 cable connections and make sure the audio is adjusted as needed and you're pretty much all set.

It works easily with Windows and in the video I showed that it also supports Linux very easily.

VGA to 1080P and audio carried via USB for a nice picture and sound.

It has a long USB cable for even the larger sized laptops and the aluminum construction of the HDMI connector feels of good quality.

It got the slightest bit warm but not at all something I'm concerned about in the least.

Nice way to use an older laptop without HDMI with a newer monitor or TV.

We watch a lot of movies through different streaming services and it's always been a pain because my husband's computer doesn't have an HDMI port so if we wanted to stream to the tv that meant giving up my computer. I'm a big multi-tasker and it's kind of a big deal for me to give my computer up for two hours as I'm constantly doing something.

We had tried several other cords and while we were able to get the image to transfer to the TV, the sound would only come through the computer, making it hard to watch. This cord was kind of a last effort attempt to get it to work from his computer. I plugged in the cords and it literally worked immediately WITH sound. I'm not a huge techy person, but I was able to easily figure out how to use it, and it's extremely user friendly. You don't NEED any particular technical knowledge, it's literally plug and play.

This cord is fantastic and so easy to use! Finally, I won't dread it every time my husband asks if I want to watch a movie....he can give up his computer now!
