Excellent Stand with Eye Catching Design and Superb Functionality!

The Rain Design iLevel 2 Stand is a quality product with an excellent design to match the aesthetics of aluminum MacBook computers.

DESIGN:
I’m a huge fan of the design of the iLevel 2. The aluminum look and feel gives it a sleek appearance that is also indicative of a high end product. There is a slider in the front that allows for adjusting the height that blends in well with the silver of the rest of the stand. There are four rubber feet on the corners of the stand to place your laptop on. I found both a 13” and 15” MacBook Pro fit rather comfortably. The Rain Design emblem in the center adds a nice touch to the look of the stand. I’ve gotten a lot of comments from friends who’ve seen this stand on my desk about how stylish and elegant it looks with my MacBook Pro.

FUNCTION:
Overall, the stand functions exactly as advertised. I placed my 13” MacBook Pro on the stand, and I noticed that it depressed slightly with the weight of the computer. There is a spring-loaded mechanism which keeps the stand at a certain level when weight is put on it. When taking your laptop off the stand, the stand lifts up due to the spring. Using the slider was a breeze, and I like that there were notches every so often for different levels. I could change the level of angle my computer was at in seconds. I see the benefit of this with people of different height both using the iLevel 2, or if you go from using it standing up versus sitting down at your desk. Otherwise, some tasks are better at certain heights, so this might be a use for you. The possibilities are endless.

Note: I also tested the stand with two Lenovo laptops, and both fit well on the stand. It can essentially work with any laptop, so don’t just assume it’s only meant for MacBooks.Read more ›

Excellent, not portable, but perfect for a table setup

Just what I needed. Well made, great stand for my 15" MBRetina. Easy height adjustment and will eliminate some neck and back pain!

This should not be typed on. Reviews complaining about the stand bouncing missed the point of a laptop stand. Get a gold touch keyboard and you set.

Almost perfect.

I like it a lot however, I don't like that it bounces a bit when I'm typing. I have to put a candle between the bottom and the place the laptop rests to keep it from bouncing.

Good, but moves too much.

This is a good stand if your use case is to set up your laptop as an extra monitor and use an external keyboard/mouse. It's adjustable so you can get the right height out of it and easily move it around as needed. For me, trying to use it on the stand leads to unwanted bouncing and movement of the stand. Still giving it four stars because it serves my needs great.

Great looking and works well

This fits in my rolling bag so is portable for me. It is great looking and matches my macbook laptop. It elevates my laptop screen high enough for ergonomic viewing. I love it. It does place the laptop keyboard up too high for comfortable typing but this is inherent with any laptop stand. I use it with a bluetooth keyboard.
