CONS: HOT, EXPENSIVE
--HOT--
Hot enough to burn you. Not on the keys/mouse which is good. After a little over 2 hours of gaming, but metal near the power button - only worth mentioning because years of gaming will make me nervous and a cooling pad might be in the future expenses.

--EXPENSIVE--
Obviously you know the prices, that's why you're reading reviews. If you want to throw down up to $2600 you better get your moneys worth out of it. I game a lot and i work a lot. BUT I'm mobile; at work and at home. To me the money was justified, don't get me wrong, I cringed throwing this much money down to add the gaming expect of being mobile, but if you're going to throw down for a gaming laptop, make it top of the line - you want to use it for years, so might as well get the best mobile GPU to date, remember you can't replace the GPU.

PROS: GAMING, QUALITY, FAST
--GAMING--
Like a beast. Runs Wolfenstein New Order, Boishock Infinite and Metro Last Night easily at the highest quality, no frame loss - I tweak the settings a bit, which I talk about below, but even at default settings they run flawlessly without any extra background programs running.

--QUALITY--
I'm lumping a few things into this category.
Screen. Very clear and crisp, great upgrade from last years model
Keyboard. Honestly took me a day or two to get used to, but very responsive and the backlit is great (no change in color but brightness is adjustable)
Trackpad. The mouse and buttons are pretty solid, I was surprised how easily FPS games are to play without an external mouse
Casing. It's metal which looks and feels awesome.Read more ›

"No Compromise"

Razer promised a no-compromise gaming laptop. They delivered. This laptop has some seriously impressive specs, and it pulls its wonderful performance off in style. The build feels like a premium ultrabook, unlike most gaming laptops. It's also considerably smaller than most other gaming laptops too (or, for that matter, most laptops, period). It has a outrageous screen (beats the Macbook retina displays in pixel density, and the colors look better in my opinion), which is absolutely wonderful for productivity but ironically limits some higher-end games. If you want to play, however, it runs pretty much everything I throw at it in Ultra settings in 1920x1080 at 60fps (minus some outliers like The Witcher 2 and Crisis 3, which still look and run great at relatively high settings).

A few detailed highlights- the power brick is compact to a noteworthy extent; it fits in a bag a lot less awkwardly than other power bricks I've had. The keyboard is probably the best I've used on a laptop, for both games and just typing. The trackpad is responsive and smooth. The machine can get really really hot when it's running some games, but the left side of the keyboard stays significantly cooler (So nothing will get in the way of WASD or QWER keys). The overall build quality is solid and aesthetically pleasing. It looks and feels like a black Macbook Pro- and I mean that as a compliment, because no matter what you might think of Macs, their hardware is generally of a higher standard than PC's.

One thing to note- only about 4-5 hours of non-gaming battery life. Maybe that's the only compromise (Although I don't mind because I never see myself using my laptop for more than four hours in a place that I can't plug it in).Read more ›

Amazing laptop in every way!

I bought this laptop looking for something that I could take everywhere and have uncompromising desktop class performance.
The New Razer Blade 14 was the solution to that!
The packaging was very nice. It was packaged so that it would not get damaged in shipping and it made it here fine.

Initial thoughts.
From the second I put my hand on it to take it out of the (very beautiful) box it came in, I saw that finger prints were going to be an issue. Seriously, I couldn't even enjoy it for 2 seconds without it being all mucked up with fingerprints, they don't even clean off easily. Keyboard is very macbook like but with a slightly longer throw and "clickyness" that is tactile and audible. Spacing between the keys and the size of them are the same as a macbook pro. Construction is very solid, however, I thought it would feel just like a macbook, but it does not. I can't put my finger on what it is, but it just has a different feel than any macbook I have had. Apple has had more time to perfect the feel and quality of their laptops and it does show through that Razer is new to the game.

(harsh comparison between the macbook because this laptop is very similar build wise and are almost in the same price bracket)

Peformance.
Does EVERYTHING I WANT IT TO!
Games, audio production, 3D modeling! EVERYTHING!
This laptop is a beast! Everything you open happens at light speed. Even sizable programs like 3DS Max, Visual Studio and Photoshop.
May games I have played are even playable at the crazy 3200x1800 resolution! Borderlands 2, Dirt 3 and Showdown, Unreal Tournament 3, Hawken.Read more ›
