Horrible Quality

I should have listened to the other reviewer about the zippers. Excited that I finally received my bag, I took it out of the package and started playing around with it, checking out all of the compartments. This seemed to be just what I was looking for. The backpack straps were exposed, so I attempted to unzip the section on the back to tuck them away. I noticed immediately that the "loop" on the end of the metal zipper pull was broken and was just two sharp pieces left on the end. When I pulled the zipper attempting to unzip it, it literally disintegrated into pieces in may hand. It's like it's not even metal. This isn't a problem with the other zipper pulls that have the cheap imitation paracord as the pulls, only the standard zipper pulls. I figured the other reviewer who had this problem was a one off thing, but beware, it definitely isn't a one off and is a testament to the questionable quality.

Also, although there are a number of pockets, there isn't a dedicated admin pocket/section. Ok fine, no admin section........but not ONE single pen/pencil slot....seriously? This isn't a gym bag, it's a laptop bag/briefcase and to not have anyplace for pens/pencils is laughable.

Printed my return shipping label and boxed it up literally 10 minutes after UPS dropped it off.

***SEE UPDATE BELOW*** If you've never been in the military, then you may not appreciate this bag. Otherwise you will understand that it is meant to be modular and you outfit it as the mission dictates. In my case a Lenovo X240. Ubiquiti WiFi station. Power pack, DC-DC power supply. AC power supply. A couple of USB 1TB drives. Notepads, pen, pencil, sharpie. And yes I CCW. This is not for the boardroom or office, it is a field pack. If you're looking for a trendy messenger bag, you'll need to keep looking, you will not be very happy with this bag. If you're out in the field and need to be able to carry your essential gear then this the bag for you.

***UPDATE***
Ok now that I've used the bag for a few weeks I can now report on how it's holding up. The bag has a major design flaw that isn't noticeable at first; the outer flap section - the one with the quick pull out for concealed carry, on the inside it has a zipper section and a large velcro strip. The velcro is so that the flap can be quickly opened to expose your weapon or whatever you have in that pocket. This means that the entire weight of the outer flap is supported by a very small section of poorly sewn material. On my bag this section has started to come undone. It will soon be wide open and the outer flap and its pockets will fall free. Other than that issue the bag design and layout is still top notch. I'm hoping to get this resolved with Amazon or the vendor soon.

Immediately after receiving my bag, i started to fill all the pockets.....then I found more pockets, and then another one. This laptop bag is perfect and so far has handled the load. i like the feature that I can either use the one strap over the shoulder or I can use the two strap for a backpack effect. Also great is I can conceal my weapon (Im legal) and grab it with ease, if needed. I own a security company and this is the bag you need...right now

Lots of "spaces" but very few "pockets". Other reviews seemed to indicate a lot of pockets. Not the case at all. Not saying it's bad... just not what I envisioned. One thing I love is the ability to unzip around the edge to make it thicker. A major failure is in the zippers. They are tiny toothed. Also, most of the zippers have cordage for pulls. Two of them have "metal" tabs. The metal tabs are some sort of pot metal that literally shattered when I touched them. Overall, I have toe the quality is terrible. Won't be buying form Red Rock again!

I love this bag. I love the layout, I love that MOST of it is well built, I love the potential. I hate that important details were done with cheap materials.

The cheap zipper pulls suck. Even in low-stress sections of the bag, two of the zipper pulls have shattered, and not in any way that can be easily repaired by the consumer. The paracord loop used for a pull on the main compartment of the bag came off in my hand, and when I looked to see why and reattach it I found that the back of the zipper where the cord had been attach was open, like a link in a chain. One touch, and it disintegrated. I can't tell if it was metal or plastic, but it was worthless. I hate that such a great bag cheaped out on this detail, especially since some of the features were designed for speed and accessibility, and a busted zipper pull limits both.

I did notice there were other reviews that mentioned bad zipper pulls, but I didn't give it much thought. I probably should have. I probably won't return the bag unless it disintegrates further, but I'll be much more cautious about Red Rock Gear in the future. At just six weeks it shouldn't be having issues, especially for a $50 bag.

Holds up well to non-traditional travel. Laptop stayed well protected. Lots of places to store odds ane ends w/ several pockets. Strap options are nice. The only thing I'd change would be the addition of a water bottle pocket.
